Josh was our amazing guide. He was very knowledgeable on each artist and their lighting display which made my visit to the Fest so much more fun and enjoyable. He also included a commentary of some of the historical buildings at the Distillery. It is so much more impressive when I understand the meaning of each display; otherwise, if I... More

Riding a Segway took this 65-yr-old a little out of my comfort zone, but after only a 5-min demonstration it was easy. Katie did a fantastic job leading us on the ghost tour which was combined with a fascinating history lesson. The night-time setting of all the buildings built in the 1800s was perfect for the many true ghost stories... More

We're stoked you had a great tour with Katie, angusbt. We've always thought there's nothing better than some ghost stories, nachos and beer. Hope to see you again on one of our historical tours! More

Great tour by Josh! Definitely a must do tour for history lovers, Toronto enthusiasts or born and bred west-enders who don't spend a ton of time EOY (east of Yonge). As an added bonus, Josh gives great book reviews and recommendations. I will be coming back for the Haunted Tour!

The tour was a great way to learn about the distillery district. It's a beautiful space in Toronto with great little shops, restaurants and it's loaded with history. Our guide Will was upbeat, informative and made it really fun. I would definitely recommend it.

Sergio was very entertaining and accommodating. We learnt a lot of the history of the early days of Toronto that we didn't know. Loved our tour and segways rock!

We met with our instructor who was very friendly and helpful. The Segway is easy to learn. The tour was educational, interesting and made all the more engaging while riding the Segway. We had opportunity to try some local business samples, which made us go back after the tour was over. There was opportunities for pictures everywhere. The tour was... More

We had a great Segway experience with Will. It was much easier to master the Segway than we had thought. Was a cool day but still enjoyable. Will definitely be back in the summer. Lots of character and charm in the historic distillery district.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
