Went there with locals, there are a lot of different collections (canadian, european, photo contest...). The architecture of the building is also worth a detour.

This does not rate the incredible 9 paintings of Monet and 2 paintings of Van Gogh in the Mystical landscape exhibition. They are beyond beautiful. The rating is for the way the gallery announces their exhibition and the fact that its definitely implied that there are more paintings of these 2 masters. I see that as misleading. Neither did I... It offers great art from different times and places, in a great and quite atmosphere. One of my favorite locations of the city.

The Thompson gallery has a great collection of the Group of Seven. It covers all the artists, including Tom Thompson's. Very moving and beautiful paintings.

The AGO is always impressive, and this recent visit was no exception. I only had a few hours, so I just took in the Mystical Landscapes show, which was fantastic, the boxwood sculptures, the new photography exhibit, and the Toronto Tributes exhibit. Everything was really well done, though it wasn't all my style. As usual, I left wishing I'd had... More

I've been to the AGO many times, but the Monet exhibit recently was my favourite by far. There are works by many artists in this gallery, and especially paintings by the group of seven.

We visit once a year, usually to see a special exhibit. The mystical landscapes exhibit was packed even with the timed tickets. I'm thinking they could manage this better. Always nice to walk around and see what's currently on display.

Just saw the Mystical Landscapes collection and it is fantastic! From Van Gogh and Monet to Group of seven and others, these landscapes offer you a chance to escape reality for a while. Listen to the audio guide and journey through time and space as you consider nature in all its glory. The rest of the gallery is great too!... More

My favourite place in all of Toronto. I am a member and a regular visitor. I can easily spend several hours there. The permanent collection of Canadian art is great and I can't seem tog et enough of it.
