A very nice place to bring a picnic and spend some time by the lake. During the week I found it not to be as crowded as many others in the city during the work week.

This park/bluff area is an unbelievable gem not far from the hustle & bustle of a giant metropolis. My gf & I visited here on 4/12 and were just stunned. Beautiful sweeping landscapes and nearly complete silence. It kind of threw our minds out of whack after being in the financial district for 4 days. This is a must see... More

Great place to explore not far from downtown Toronto. In the summer you can go to the beach and experience the stunning bluffs, an impressive terrain.

Has different parts where you can enjoy the beach, or the rocky side, watch the swans, lay on the lawn, watch the sunset over the cliff, and just relax by the water. You'll feel away from the city for sure.

I spent a Sunday in April here, my recommendation would be to visit this place in the offseason. Great for picnics, walks along the waterfront and the best views I have saw! Hiking, beaches, BBQ opportunities a spectacular place to enjoy a day in the sun!

Beautiful view of the lake. If you're into photography, this is the place for you. It's a bit hard to get to, so you definitely need a car and a GPS - if you look like you're in a residential neighbourhood, you're in the right place. Beautiful walk below the bluffs as well for some nice shots.

Best kept secret in Toronto. Great marina for boat. Beautiful place to eat while overlooking Lake Ontario. Walking trails, and sandy beach. All within the GTA.

Staying in Scarborough

Neighbourhood Profile
Scarborough
Situated astride Lake Ontario, Scarborough is a district heavily influenced by immigration. With a number of low-rent shopping and dining options making it a highly affordable part of town, and boasting one of Toronto's largest shopping malls, the otherwise green suburban neighborhood is a good place to go for bargains and discounts. It also draws in photographers. The spires, archways, and cavernous rooms of the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Palace are filled with breathtaking art, architecture, and detailed reliefs – it’s like entering a different world, The ruins of columns and installation art at the Guild Inn makes a free-for-all exploration site, while the big-name draw for young photographers is the menagerie at the Toronto Zoo. While many visitors shirk Scarborough as too suburban, its houses are some of Toronto's most mystical and haunting architectural beauties. And for adventure lovers, it has river-rafting and some unique hiking trails.
