    Just OK
If like to give the Rec Room a great review but I can't. The staff were all really nice and the food wasn't bad but I probably won't go back or recommend it Our server was nice and friendly and seemed happy, but he messed some things up. He forgot to bring a drink we requested. He made us believe he'd make up for a non-existent mistake he made in our order by bringing us each a free dessert but only brought one and it appeared on our bill. It seemed like much of the wait staff were trainees. The food was ok but not great. I ordered a chicken Cobb salad and found my first piece of chicken when I was 3/4 done. The chicken in it was shredded but I don't think there was much there. The fish tacos were ok but not as flavourful as I'd hoped. The location is great though; right across the street from the CN Tower and aquarium.

    Fabulous Place For Families
This place is amazing. Great for families so many games for kids to play while waiting for food. Also great entertainment that allows adults to enjoy an after dinner drink while kids are occupied. Would be a great place for a group of friends or first date night. Food and service excellent. With games fairly noisy but lovely quiet patio

    Third time - home run
Ok, this is the THIRD time I’ve had a great meal here I’m going to take the roasting for liking this insufferable tourist trap - for fellow PARENTS. My sibling lives in the city and our kids love the Aquarium and we end up at Blue Jays games when people visit. So we end up here a couple times a year ( and we try to use time off ) on a weekday so it’s slow. BUT the food at the Aquarium (sorry it was in the newspaper they messed this up) is not food for anyone except kids under 16. All good, got the Rec Room across the street. The food is subsidized by the video games - we had a $10 kids meal that came with a salad, a personal pizza AND Tiny donuts with jam (AnD and a drink?). I always have a nice fish and chips or burger…..and the APP? MOVIE popcorn 🍿- goodness. Of course great for kids, stroller friendly, accessible. And for a tourist spot the staff in the restaurant are a delight.

In all of my 45 years of dining out this is the worst experience I have ever endured. Please be aware - that if you make a reservation on the patio that your teenage children cannot go inside to play games and they must wait in another line to do so. No where on the site is this known - and when we discovered this my sister and I kept the reservation on the patio as the kids waited and eventually made there way inside. I made the reservation through open table. When we arrived we were told of this rule regarding outside and inside. Making a quick adjustment to our plans to ensure the kids remained happy we stayed on the patio. Only to be told immediately after sitting that we had only 1 hour and half on the patio and then must leave. I was appalled and said so you are kicking us out, again no where in the reservation or the site does it say you are on a limited time. Trying to keep my composure after two failed attempts at 2 different wines since none were in stock my sister and I sat with an appetizer. By the time the kids were in the building i was 4:30. Please note that I asked the table next to us if they were told that they must leave and they said no. At approx 5:15 we were told we had 15 mins at which time I told her to call her manager. The manager was condescending and patronizing. She was actually laughing under her mask. I was disgusted by her behavior and wondering where is the customer service?? After all, I have done nothing wrong here. I made a reservation only to discover that there were rules we were not aware of and now being pushed out the door not even having finished our wine. I plainly told her that we were not leaving and that this service is completely unfair. She reluctantly allowed us to stay with zero sincerity to her apology. Our server Michael was the only decent and sincerely apologetic to our circumstance while everyone else was rude. Zero customer service. This is the worst experience my sister and I have ever had.

It wasn’t raining anymore and rained in the afternoon, we show up for our 6 pm reservation at the door and they say oh sorry it’s cancelled. And then proceed to say it happened to a few other people earlier too. Such disrespect to make someone get ready and commute to a restaurant and not have the decency to call them in advance to cancel. They didn’t offer inside seating as another option either. Absolutely terrible customer service and I won’t be going back there.

The games were fine. They are just gambling machines for teenagers and children. Variety is about 1/3 of a Dave & Busters.

The food and the service? Lacking.

We played for about 30 mins and then decided to eat. When I approached the hostess, she told me it was a 45 min wait even though the place was effectively empty!! She said they were only serving in a small section of the restaurant and they were short staffed. She directed me to the self-order area and I asked: “Is it the same menu?” to which she replied “yes”. I head over there and it is not, so I had to go back and sit with my 70-year old mother and 14-year old at the bar to be able to order.

At the bar, the bartender takes my drink and food order and immediately proceeds to check me out! That is ridiculous, since I have to choose a tip for service and she hasn’t even put in the order!

The drinks were subpar (pretty sure there was NO vodka in my drink). The food took over 20 mins to come out and I had to actually flag down the person carrying the order after he had walked outside looking for the table and then put the food on the counter while he consulted with another waitress because they couldn’t figure out who it belonged to. I had to say: “I’m pretty sure that’s my order”.

The bartender did not come back once to check on us. AFTER, I was done with my meal I had to call her and ask for water since she hadn’t offered water to anyone in my party.

This place needs better management, better trained employees and an overall overhaul.

Come for the games, if you REALLY need something for the kids to do, and then go eat somewhere else.

Not Friendly at all
Really it was one if our worst experiences.
the waiting time to play is loge, and the order is not organiezed, someone can pass you if they are reguler customer and they know the servers. The food is oily, we ordered 4 dishes, the last one came to table when others were finishing there food.
It deserve not the time and effort made for the visit
And the Waiters behavior were extremly rude

I recently visited this downtown location with adults and children in attendance. I must say, that I was actually quite shocked by the extremely strict security detail at the entrance; they proceeded to not only request bag check, but also ruffled through my entire purse, not to mention checked my pockets as well. Apparently they are checking for food and beverages to be brought in, but I thought this was quite excessive, and they were doing the same to all patrons. It was probably more than I've experienced at airport security lately.
The space itself is quite large, with separate areas for gaming, the bar area and the restaurant.
The restaurant menu has many 'generic' options, and not particularly healthy ones, especially for kids, which is concerning, and the portions are small.
Additionally, if you are dining in then planning on enjoying the games, they don't let you leave items at the table, and there's no place around the gaming area to keep your belongings. Also, the service was quite slow and not particularly attentive.
It is QUITE noisy as well, with not only the games, but also noise from the televisions broadcasting games, but background noise as well.
Overall, individuals might come here for a bday/party or a bar night, but it's nothing special, and certainly, I wouldn't come here relying on customer service (and security not to mention).
Not a place I'll be coming back to myself.

We had dinner here (4 adults/2 children). Outside. LOVED the location! LOVED the server. LOVED the food! The game room looked like fun, but we had just returned from the Game Garage at CNE, so.... It started raining and we didn't have an umbrella over our table. The waitress immediately told us she had a table ready for us inside, but we chose to sit outside. She immediately dragged an umbrella over, which didn't cover the entire table, so she started to drag another one. I told her I was finished & could stand, but she wouldn't have that and got a 2nd one anyway. Excellent experience all around. Thank you!!!

Really disappointed to rate this 2 stars as the experience we had earlier on in the week was amazing! The front of house staff (who sold us the game bracelets) amazing! I couldn’t rate them higher if I tried. The manager on duty was lovely, very polite as were the two gentlemen who served us during this process. We had a lovely chat about how me and my boyfriend are from London and similar attractions we have there! Super friendly super helpful. 5 stars for the front of house team on the 5th of April 2023 around 4:30pm.

However we went back today - 7th of April 2023 at around 5:30pm. Once again front of house were lovely, and all staff manning the games very cheerful and happy despite the Easter weekend chaos. The restaurant however, was absolutely diabolical. Our waitress (didn’t catch her name unfortunately) was lovely, and really helpful considering this situation was nothing to do with her. We ordered the mac and cheese and the fish and chips. I watched the fish and chips be sat under a “hot plate” for 23 minutes before they decided to finally serve us.

For obvious reasons we sent this back. To then watch the new waiter (didn’t get his name either) and what only I can assume to be the head chef discuss with each other about my complaint. The chef in the kitchen then proceeded to simply move my food from one plate to another without re cooking or changing the items. I am an ex fast food restaurant manager, I know how customer service works. And this is not how a successful restaurant should be ran. My meal was taken off the bill due to the inconvenience (I barely ate it anyway as it was stone cold). Yet we were still left with a $39 bill. Which in my opinion is unacceptable.

Bottom line- arcades and front of house staff amazing, really know their stuff and show a genuine interest in their job.

Restaurant- poorly run and wouldn’t even bother wasting your time there let alone your money.

Great concept to keep young and old diners entertained between courses. It is clean and food was really tasty. Quality of games are good and great variety so all ages can get involved. Staff were friendly and helpful. It was a little crowded at times however we did visit during peak times.
