We visited the last week of August and most of the staff was already gone. I understand students must return to school, but the price remains the same and there is no mention in the literature advising visitors of this fact. There still was a...More

We always look for dog-friendly places on our trips. Fort Williams Historical park was a really fun stop. We only planned on spending a morning there, but were all (6yo, 9yo, German Shepherd and two parents) sucked into 1816 and stayed from open to practically...More

While billed as the Ft. William historical site, this reconstruction is not really on the site of the original Northwest Company trading post. But it's a very nice place to visit, especially for the children. In addition to the entrance fee, for $5 more one...More

Many young adults are dressed in period dress and present information about the life and people at the fort in the year 1816. Be sure to take a short trip on the large canoe.

Staffed mostly by college students, the interpreters here have fun with their jobs and really help bring history alive. The welcome center is beautiful and after a short film, you can walk a short path to take a tram to the historic site. It is...More

The whole family enjoyed their time here. We liked the fact that it was historically accurate with their facts and depictions of early life in Canada. Highly recommended to visit.

At least 2 to 3 hours. Take your time, enjoy the farm and aboriginal encampment. Many buildings and stories to be told by the actors.

Sometimes there are sponsored events outside the fort by the parking areas. I would check the event schedule to see what might be happening in July. Enjoy your visit!
