We only saw one play this trip and it was a great choice. Music Man was fantastic, the actors are talented and athletic with great voices. The horse scene brought down the House, I have never seen such a performance of a horse! We loved...More
Brought out memories of poems of nature. The beauteous forms and seeing into the life of things that sort of thing.
The town is so picturesque, quiet and charming. A lifelong New Yorker, I was so taken by the beauty of the place. You can...More
We saw two plays and we were not disappointed. The seating is a bit cramped, especially if you are overweight (like me), but the view of the stage is unobstructed. Actors are top notch. Well worth the time.
Often the Front of House staff can be cajoled into surrendering a programme or two before the doors open.
This allows you to come up to speed on the play before settling into seats as it can take .5-1. hour to read part of the...More
Yes, I am one of those who would go to the local rep theatre every Friday at midnight, sometimes dressed in part, to see this excellent movie. But I have never seen it live, on stage, and I was hesitant. Who can replace Tim Curry?...More

Hi, thanks so much for sharing your thoughts on The Rocky Horror Show. I am so glad to hear you enjoyed the show. SF
I can't say enough great things about the acting ,dancing and singing in this production.
Choreography and presentation was superb. The Festival Theatre is a beautiful well layed out with great site lines from everywhere as it is a theatre in the nearly round .
Recent saw ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ from excellent seats second row centre in the front orchestra. For a musical we’d move further back, but for a dramatic production the players were often no more than 15’ away. Purchased last minute at a significantly discounted price...More
We travel to Stratford annually for the festival. This year, we saw 5 plays, and ALL of them were terrific. A Long Day's Journey Into Night was one of the finest works I have seen in all my years of attending. Another outstanding production was...More
We come here at least every other year (last three years in a row) and have found the selection of plays performed both broad and satisfying and the productions presented as well as the performances of the actors all terrific!

Currently the productions are in still in preview. Theatre critics will usually not review until after official opening night. We have only seen The Music Man so far and attended the fourth preview. We were a group of eight and the audience was full of students. Our group enjoyed the production immensely. The three plays you mentioned may appeal to very different audiences. From what I have read in Stratford’s info Rocky will not have the audience interactions one may anticipate from productions. Honestly I do not put to much weight on Newspaper Critics and have disagreed with several reviews over the years at many venues. You may trust a certain writer and may have to wait for publication.
