If you do not know about lock, this is the perfect place, the restoration they did the last few years make it place not to mist while in Niagara region.

Was surprised that the upstairs of the museum is available for a get-together of up to about 100 people, where food can be catered in. It was great for a birthday party.

The museum is a great place to learn the history of St. Catharines. It was very impressive and I couldn't believe that it was free! You also can watch the huge freight ships use the canal locks which is very interesting to watch. Whenever I have company, this is the first place I will take them! Highly recommended!

I like that the admission is what ever u feel like donating. So It applies to all budgets. Inside u can learn about alot of local history and the Welland Canal. There is a gift shop and a place to grab a coffee . You can go outside to the observation deck and watch the boats come in and out... More

I have gone to this museum ever since I was a child. My grandfather would take me and we would watch the ships go through the canal, after that we would go in to the museum look at everything and do activities that were offered (such as lacrosse, how to tie a rope like a sailor, what it's like to... I loved this lovely museum. When I entered this place, they only asked for donations. I looked straight through the window and saw a cargo ship going through. I found the stairs that would lead me to the observation deck. Once there, I had no idea that so many people were fans of seeing a cargo ship going through the... More

We attended an event here recently and we really enjoyed the place. The museum is quite interesting, with a lot of good historical information. The event room upstairs is a great place to hold a get-together if you don't mind being out of there by 9 o'clock.
