The eco-tourism based company ‘Explore Pelee’ was established by Anne Marie Fortner 9 years ago to help make your trip to Pelee hassle free. Local tour guides will show you all the secret magical spots of the island and give historical accounts of life in Canada’s most southern community. Southwestern Ontario is scattered with quaint, small communities full of culture, history and peaceful country landscapes. Pelee Island’s magical charm has been coined the Canadian Caribbean. Some travel far to vacation, but Canada’s most southern community, Pelee Island, is right in your backyard.

While you are at Pelee Island be sure to: EAT Lunch at Conorlee's and pizza dinner takeout from here too After the fabulous Pelee Island Winery Wine tour, cook your own lunch on their BBQS. Take your bottle of Pelee wine (I love the 2008 Gewurtztraminer Reserve, the Vinedresser Meritage and the Cab Franc Ice Wine) Watch the sunset from... More

Aside from the trip over on the ferry and the wonderful bus tour we took, I have to say it was a big disappointment. There is absolutely nothing to do on the island aside from visiting the winery and lighthouse(which I may add you need to drive to not walk).Don't waste your time. Poison Ivy galore so watch you don't... More

This is a great little island. We stayed at a bed and breakfast (WAVECREST). If you're going to bike, hike, swim and enjoy all the natural beauty I suggest you bring bug spray and lunch. There are limited place to eat and it's easier if you bring food for lunch and snacks. We stayed at WaveCrest. Lovely B&B right on... More

These folks are great! Very energetic and bright. They have an unprecedented amount of knowledge of the island and great ideas for things to do or places to visit

Stepping off the ferry you'll see a clap board which says "Tours...12:00...2:00". Behind the Westview tavern you'll likely find an empty office whose sign reads "Explore Pelee". Call the posted phone number and leave a message to connect with Pelee Island's premier tour, taxi and rental vendor. Secure a tour with their accommodations manager/bar tender/ecologist and you'll round out a... More

The Pelee Islander was a great experience and the staff were very friendly. We stayed at the East Bay campground which was perfect: quiet, clean, and offered the beach right at the end of their driveway! We biked around the lovely island and got to walk through the wood area to the old light house on the island corner which... More

Pelee Island is a little rustic, but that is certainly part of its charm. There are bike paths around the island, or you can drive around. Much of the shoreline has been covered in large rocks to prevent erosion, but there are also public beaches that offer water access. The winery is a must see. Get used to waving, as... More

So happy we decided to take the Explore Pelee tour for our first visit to the island. They were right there at the dock so it was a matter of hop and go! We weren't sure what would be within walking distance from the ferry terminal (not much!) Tour guide Hailey was an enthusiastic fun guide who covered a lot... More

My niece had booked thie Island tour with AnneMarie prior to arriving. AnneMarie, the owner of Explore Pelee Tours, was ready and waiting for us after we disembarked the Jiimann Ferry. AnneMarie had so much history, information and sights to share. That girl knows the history of the island. Unscheduled stops were made along the way for photos. The down... More
