The location of the War Memorial is in close proximity to the Parliament and the Byword market so there is really no reason not to visit it if you are in the area. The memorial is moving. We've visited twice once during Remembrance and once during the summer.

It is very well worth a visit and tends to be inspirational and will stir your pride in what our soldiers have done for us with their courage and sacrifice. It is very near Parliament and should you bein Ottawa to visit Parliament a visit to the War memorial will really go to stir up your pride and patriotism.

You cant miss this if you are touring Ottawa on foot! If you are here in the summer, take in the Changing of the Guards at parliament Hill... Good sunny day activity

Well, it is a museum. Honestly, is far way distance with the best museum I have seen. I don't think it deserves so much time visiting it.

After leaving Parliament Hill we strolled over to the National War Memorial and this is a great tribute to all soldiers.

A large plaza near the Parliament Buildings that has a special meaning to most Canadian. A good place to take a break from the crowds and have some "quiet time".

I felt emotional touched viewing the memorial and was honoured to stand there. It was very moving visiting the memorial at night with the Christmas lights around the plaza lit.

The whole downtown area, Rideau, Wellington, Parliament grounds, is full of statues and memorials. Look at them, take pictures.

I have been here many times and will definitely go back again. It is definitely a must for every Canadian to go to, to pay their respects. The statue above the grave of the unknown soldier is absolutely astounding. The craftsmanship is astonishing and definitely world class. There are always people around the area and in the spring, you can... More
