Paid respects to my great grand uncle who died in world war 1. Security is ramped up. Beautiful memorial. Very moving.

We stopped by twice and the second time we saw most of the commemoration ceremony for the Battle of the Atlantic. Very moving. But even just going to see it and the soldiers that guard the tomb is worth doing.

Stop look and reflect on what soldiers have done for our country. Sacrifices they and their families have made through time. We shall never forget!

Beautiful monument to reflect, right beside Parliament. If coming for Remembrance ceremony, arrive early for a good location, or stay standing along Wellington (viewing memorial from behind) as Elgin gets packs up pretty tight.

I have great respect for all those in the Canadian forces and this place is a beautiful spot to reflect and appreciate the sacrifices of those before us.

The National War Memorial is in the center of the city and just across from Parliament Hill and Sparks Street Mall. The resting place of the unknown soldier, a reminder of those who have given of themselves so we can be free, many ceremonies take...More

When I say that there's not much to see, I mean that it will only take a few minutes to check out this site. It's pretty much just a small park in the middle of a confusing intersection. The great thing about this site is...More
