As a birthday gift last year, my daughter gave me a Spring Workshop in Little Italy prior to our visiting Rome that fall. The workshop was just a day, and was 'Italian for the Traveler'. I didn't think I would enjoy it, but it was fun - in one of the schools close to Preston Street. The others taking the... More

Really enjoyed my meal there. Unfortunately I live too far away to return more often.

Preston Street is the heart of Little Italy. There are tons of restaurants, most of them good, but there is a lack of anything else (few shops or cafés.) At one end of Preston is LeBreton Flats and the Ottawa River, and the other, Dow's Lake and the Dow's Lake Pavillion. All in all, a trip down Preston St is... More

Recently renovated, the street is inviting and the food an experience to enjoy. At any season and during festivals it is a Do Not Miss. The restaurants are friendly and the service is excellent and affordable. Parking is available on the street. Many shops and groceries. You will find fresh ready to cook pasta and authentic Italian gelato and we... More

Known as Little Italy, Preston Street has recently undergone a major renovation that has broadened sidewalks, improved lighting and signage and generally made it a more welcoming place. Lined with many good Italian and other (but mostly Italian) restaurants, this is a better place to visit in the summer than winter. It s also home of Preston Hardware, one of... More

We love to go to Preston Street. From the old Prescott hotel with its storied past to laughing it up at Absolute comedy to dining in the quirky Pub Italia with its Beer Bible, Preston is the place to park the car and start strolling. You'll find something you love!

The best of Ottawa's Italian restaurants are to be found on Preston Street. A wonderful place to be during local and Italian festivals. ts proximity to Dow's Lake make it a great year round destination.

If you're looking to do an espresso tour in Ottawa, don't miss little Italy. My favourite is the morning owl (on Rochester street) but they are only open till 3 pm and are closed on weekends. Still worth the visit. If you are looking to buy a machine, preston hardware is the place to go.
