Beachwood has our national cemetery with in it. Our Canadian troops are laid to rest with this cemetery and are honoured there.

Ottawa's largest and most historic cemetary. Besides many politicians being buried here for over a hundred years, it is also the national cemetary for police and military members.

I enjoy walking through old cemeteries and taking photos. This cemetery is much like a park. Beautiful old trees, across from the reception building there is a pond and gazebo, it's just a peaceful area. There is a Chinese section, an RCMP section and Canada's...More

We were here recently for the funeral service of a friend. From the moment we entered the grounds we were most impressed with the grounds. This place is huge, with flower beds and trees meticulously cared for. It is just plain beautiful. As for the...More

Beechwood is at least 4 different cemeteries; National Military, National Police, Chinese and 'old' Ottawans. A beautiful peaceful place well kept. Large building with many chapels as you enter the cemetery. The National Military section is as it should be, sombre and meticulously laid out...More

It is the resting place for more than 75000 people and many of them important Canadian figures, from politicians to soldiers killed in the line of duty. It is a must see if you visit Ottawa
