Theatre is now closed and a sad loss to the Shaw festival experience. This was our, favourite venue it needed to be closed for safety and handicap reasons.

Oh What a Lovely War! We saw this in preview two weeks ago, and are still reflecting on the tremendous ensemble performance presented by a fine and energetic cast. A complex effort was made to tie the First World War experience of Canadian citizens of...More

Didn't know the background story on this production of Shaw's play until reading the program. It was the most interactive play with the audience that I have attended over many years of going to the Shaw Festival. The interaction and involvement with the audience throughout...More

Earlier this season we saw Androcles and the Lion in the Courthouse Theatre, and while the play was enjoyable we did not care much for the venue. The Festival got started here in 1962, and I remember seeing my first festival performance here four years...More

Androcles and the Lion was a very good show in a very intimate theatre. It was a unique style show. It seemed very contemporary even though it was written decades ago. Audience involvement was a great aspect as well.

I was hesitant because my husband and I are in our 60's -but the ticket agent convinced me- and I'm glad I listened to him! 55 minutes long and worth it. The actors- costumes- and storyline was excellent- very touching. I laughed and I cried....More

My wife and I recently saw the play Androcles and the Lion at this theater. Its small and your right up close to the stage. You can feel that you’re a part of the play. This particular play encouraged audience participation in several ways. Such...More

My wife and I were seated in the front row (not her preference) on the left side of the theatre (stage right) for a very different performance of Shaw's "Androcles and the Lion" and we immensely enjoyed a very unique and unexpected superb performance of...More
