    Fantastic
Charming location loaded with dining, shopping, and boutique hotel options. Great place to visit for a few days. All structures are maintained in original period design (exterior). Lots of fun.

    Wonderful experience
Loved the heritage district. So many cute shops and galleries and food options. You can spend hours walking, looking at the beauty, the flowers and the variety of shops. Great hat place too.

    Definitely worth a visit!
Loved our visit to NOTL. We visited in my birthday in February so while there were people around it was not busy at all. We love historical buildings and areas and it was great to walk these streets and see the shops, cafes etc in the old buildings. There are lots of unique shops with some great items and finds - the prices seemed fairly reasonable too given the location. We stopped in a little cafe for a light lunch and then had a delicious hot chocolate a chocolate shop (literally one of the best we’ve had!). Overall, a really lovely place to visit and explore and I’d recommend! Save for the Falls themselves, I prefer NOTL to Niagara Falls.

    Beautiful Village
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. A weekday in October gave us small crowds with most shops open. The village was lovely with easy parking, delicious offerings, and warm, friendly locals. Definitely on our list for another trip.

A must stop when on the Niagra wine trial.
Niagara-on-the-Lake is a great village to visit. They have persevered the 19th century look and feel. We were there on December 31st and was pleased with the holiday spirt being displayed. Only 30 minutes from Niagara Falls and makes for a nice stop over if traveling to Tronto. Take the time to stop into the Prince of Wales located on the main st. Enjoy a walk through enjoying the vintage surroundings. As you stroll down Main St be sure to stop in the many interesting shops.

Chimney sandwiches are not to be missed
We were recommended this place by a bus driver while vacationing in Niagra Falls and the surrounding Niagra on the Lakes area. We each had a "chimney" sandwich and they were outstanding!! Costs about 13 dollars with tax but worth every cent. Quite frankly we hadn't been impressed with a lot of the food on this trip( generic and over-priced) but this place is a winner if you are in the area.

    So charming & romantic
My husband & I spent 2 nights here after 1 night in Niagara Falls because we wanted to take time to enjoy this quaint & historic little town. There are so many tucked away bed & breakfasts we passed on our walks so clearly, many visitors stay overnight rather than just doing a day trip. We went mid May so several shops on the Main Street were not yet open. Before booking your stay, I would recommend finding out when establishments open for the season in order to get the most of your trip. Still, there was much to see & do & we were never bored.

    Beware of Parking!!!
Warning!!! We got a parking ticket while paying for parking. Literally 2 minutes of time passed and a ticket was on the window when I returned to place the receipt. This was the most unfair welcome. You have to pay online or return in person to dispute. Despite this beginning, the town is lovely with lists of food, wine and shops.

A trip to Niagara on the Lake is a must
Niagara Lake the whole town not just the Heritage section is just a Charming sweet clean very friendly neighborhood. The decor, the unbelievable flowers and trees, the colors and attention to detail throughout the town was awesome. We visited the shops in a few bars and had dinner at Zee's which was pretty darn good. From the district you can walk just a few blocks and you'll be at the riverbank or the lake. Sunsets are amazing I recommend a trip here if you can get there and why are there don't forget the book of wine tour plenty of great wineries in the area

    Ladies Boutique Heaven
My wife & sister loved this town. We had a lovely breakfast at one of the downtown restaurants & then the ladies went shopping. Having been married a few years, the guys step back & allow the ladies to have fun. If this was closer, this would be an annual trip for the ladies. A must visit for lady shoppers. It is a beautiful town.

Niagara on the lake hires criminal parking enforcement who go around fining tourists who have followed Parking bi-laws. Stay away from this garbage town. I parked following all the posted signs but they fined me $50 based on some obscure municipal parking policy that no visitor to the tourist town could be aware of. All other cars on that street also got the same fine. Completely unfair.

Historic Main street Niagara on the Lake is definitely quaint if that's your thing. Some good places to eat for sure but most of the shops are your typical over priced touristy stores. The worst was the Indigenous art store, Lots of really nice, slightly over priced art but the sales person was so full of B.S. I could hardly stand it. He would tell you anything to try and close a sale. I would say don't waste too much of your time on Main street...better to see some real history at Fort George or take some great hikes along the gorge.

Beautiful ancient town with a charming main street lined with old buildings and a decent range of stores and restaurants, some of which are upscale. On the street and in parking lots, there is a fee for parking. Historic homes, some dating back to the early 1800s, may be seen nearby, as well as overlooks of the Niagara River and Lake Ontario, including views of Fort Niagara on the New York side of the border. Several historic church structures, plaques, and locations. The flowers and landscaping are gorgeous and memorable. There are horse-drawn carriage rides available. Benches for people who are waiting for their shopping-obsessed companions! Fort George National Historical Site is nearby, a recreated British fort that was destroyed during the War of 1812-1814. Newark, the name given to Niagara on the Lake, was largely established by people from the area.

Niagara-on-the-Lake Old Town is the most charming part (the Falls themselves are overwhelming) of any visit to The Niagara Peninsula. Take The Niagara River Parkway to its northernmost point and you have arrived. Be sure to visit the parks and old forts along the shores of Lake Ontario. We recommend the Golf Club's public restaurant and terrace.

We stayed in Niagra on the Lake and used it as a base to visit Niagra Falls. This village is steeped in history, clean with lots of independent boutiques for shopping. The floral displays around the village were amazing, and the area down by the waterfront is gorgeous. We were able to use the bus to travel to Niagra Falls so a car is not essential. There was lots to do, horse and carriage rides and bus trips to vineyards/wine tasting, museum and heritage houses. Also great places to eat 😄

Niagara on the Lake is replacing their parking meters to stiff the public. Not only are the rates exorbitant, but you can’t pay with a credit card any more. You have to use your phone and in addition to paying the high rates YOU GET CHARGED A SERVICE FEE!!!
I’ve complained to the Town about it and no longer go to the old town.

Many things to do especially if you drink wine. Nice town on the Lake Ontario with beautiful houses, flowers and original shops on Queen Street. Can be expensive but we were lucky to come at the end of August when there were sales.

Enjoyed Window shopping, Cow’s Ice Cream - Messie Bessie, unique clothing stores. Town was pretty and clean. Most everyone wore masks & crowd control & spacing were managed - felt safe.

We were lucky enough to arrive in Niagara on the lake after a few inches of snow had been dropped overnight. The park at the edge of town was still covered with virgin snow that my Florida girls just loved exploring. There is also a great selection of stores and restaurants.
