Was a great history lesson. Not many realize that Kingston was the first Capital City of Canada and the City Hall was the Parliament Building at that time. New restoration has made this worth seeing.

The interior is just as beautiful as the exterior. Inside, you are allowed to visit one room on the main floor which talks about the history of the city. Then, you can visit the 2nd floor where the city council can be in session (and we actually saw them in session). The architecture is worth seeing.

The best part of the City of Kingston! Both sides of the CIty hall are beautiful! One part faces the lake and the other part faces the City! The part facing the square gives off an old world feeling. Very very pretty! :)

Contrary to local myth, this building was never intended to be the Parliament of Canada. It was, however, planned as the City Hall of Canada's Capital, which Kingston was during the planning and initial build. The architect was George Browne, who designed several iconic buildings in Kingston. City Hall may be his magnum opus. Take some time to enjoy the... More

Very friendly volunteers give a short tour of the building. The basement with replicas of drunk men in the old jail is funny.

I was here in Kingston, Ontario from Aug.13-16 with a friend. I did a tour of city hall which was very interesting. The building itself is beautiful and there are many elaborate rooms to take pictures of. It is loaded with culturally rich history. I especially enjoyed viewing a model of a jail cell back in the 1700s. The exhibit... More

elaborate interior rooms with lots of history. City Council chambers & the grand hall with it's stained glass windows are a must see & you're allowed to wander on self-tours.

Beautiful building in the middle of downtown Kingston. We did not saw anything in side but from the outside look amazing.
