Nice house and tour. Make sure to walk through the garden when it is open. Good to see things growing as they would have back in the day. Anne of Green Gables the sequel was filmed there. The dining room was the old lady's living room in the movie.

I very much enjoyed making Ginger snap cookies with my daughter and friends, guided tour and English tea. What a great idea to illustrate how things were done in the kitchen at the time the family lived here. Fun activity for young and old. The Cook demonstrators very informative, helpful and funny.

I have toured the grounds several times and also attended some of their cooking classes. Each time I have enjoyed my experience greatly and recommended it to many friends.

It was an awesome tour. There were only 5 of us in the group so it was easy to take lots of pictures. Our tour guide was full of knowledge and I learned so much about Dundurn castle. I really enjoyed that all the rooms had furniture to the era. Admission includes free admission into the War museum as well!

We took friends here and were pleasantly surprised! I usually hate period clothing - seems so fake - but this was so well done! We even were able to eat snacks in the kitchen below made with period ingredients and methods. A great job done by great staff.

I have taken visitors from the U.S and other places. They have a little store to look around and get tea etc. The tour around the castle is very well done, informative and really ice to see. You even go into the kitchens and they are baking on some days. The people are dressed in the authentic clothing of the... More

The castle isn't very magnificent as it looks from the ads. Maybe because it's not meant to be a castle but a residential house. The house inside has 76 rooms as told by our lovely tour guide. Different rooms were used as different purposes and for different people in the house. Servants lived in the basement, while the owners lived on... More

While we did find Dundurn Castle very interesting, in looking thru others photos of tour I'm wondering if our guide cut ours short because it was the last or second last tour of day. None of the tables were set with dishes as I see in the pics and the pigeon house was not seen or pointed out to us.... More

Thank you for your review. The pictures which you see with dishes set are taken during our Victorian Christmas special event in November and December and are not left set year around. The lights on in some pictures are also "turned on" during special events and some are on year round but if you visit on an especially bright day... More
