This piece is iconic. The 'wings' of the Spirit Catcher move gently with the winds as the majestic arms reach towards the sky... I would think this is one of the most photographed pieces in Barrie - certainly the most attention drawing! Be sure to read the story at the base. Very heart warming tale.

The freedom and spiritual feeling is part of every visit tthat I make to the Spirit Catcher! Whether I climb the steps to the top or just gaze at it gives me joy. It looks great against Kempenfelt Bay and makes an amazing photo opportunity!

Nice addition to the ever sterile landscape known as Barrie, Ontario. I like the natural rust the sculpture is getting as it adds character. Great design and well placed.

If you visit the Spirit Catcher on a windy day you will notice each of the wings move making a creaking noise.

I absolutely love taking walks by the Spirit Catcher. It embodies Barrie's festive spirit, sense of community, beauty, nature, and lifestyle. Also, it is conveniently located across from Barrie's downtown core - which allows for tourists to take in beautiful scenic views and indulge in a little bit of shopping. Definitely worth the trip!

The walk around Barrie's waterfront is always a nice outing. Shady areas to rest, some seating along the way (more seating would be nice). Ice cream stand near centennial beach is also a nice stop. The gardens are lovely closer to heritage park, the end closest to mulcaster.

The Barrie Spirit Catcher is an amazing place to stop. Not only does it have a very spiritual meaning but everyone seems drawn to it. It is most interesting if it is windy, to see the arms moving so effortlessly considering each arm weighs hundreds of pounds. I always get a sense of peace and serenity when I'm there.
