This is a fabulous facility with an active and vibrant community of supporters . The exceptional programs that they have provided for children, educational support programs, mobile art experiences and school break activities have been a major contributor to the concept of art appreciation in our local youth . The facility is regularly displaying new works and encourages regular journeys... More

I have been to the Maclaren Art Centre in Barrie several times. A great place to appreciate art. But I am especially excited about the Arthur Shilling 'The Final Works' Exhibition coming March 23 to June 25, 2017. Arthur passed away in 1986. His works are at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection, the National Museum of Civilization, the Royal Ontario... More

From the clean, open space to the tasty menu this is a pleasant place to have lunch. Their fresh wild mushroom soup was very memorable as were the wraps and quiche we had among us. Excellent coffee was on offer too. Combined with a visit to the art gallery and you have a great outing.

I was blown away by this small museum which had wonderful exhibits by a local artist. It is serene as an art gallery should be and the coffee shop has great food and awesome coffee. Entrance is strictly free but contributions are invited. I gave happily to support this lovely little treasure in Barrie.

Popped into Radio Cafe for a coffee the lady prepared the wrong coffee and when she brought the correct type it was stone cold and served with attitude. This was my second chance as the first time I came my coffee was full of grinds. Go elsewhere if you enjoy good coffee.

The Maclaren Art Centre is located downtown Barrie and offers up a nice and tidy bit of culture. It does not take too long to go through the gallery, but it is spacious and welcoming. The two pieces that are worth the visit alone are from Norval Morriseau. They are excellent! You can attend the Maclaren for free though there... More

We recently had our wedding hosted at the Maclaren Art Centre It was fabulous. From our first interaction with Shannon, until the very end. Very professional, kind, and courteous. I visited the Art centre several times within the planning of our wedding, it's beautiful there.

This a great place to meet friends for coffee or to have lunch. I especially like the Thai curry chicken salad or wrap.

I have been many times over the years and still it's a place to go...with all these points of interest in Barrie, it is easy to make a whole day of it . It is not T.O. but there parking and lots to do in a short driving time.

Found i had some time and went into Radio cafe to get a herbal tea. Instead of keeping on i went into the various galleries and saw the new exhibits. Always such a great place to see the collection and some new ideas in art. Has a really nice store as well.

Thank Ingrid S
