I have grown up boating, fishing and relaxing at Lake Ontario. I worked downtown and would pass its pretty shore on a daily basis. After all these years I still find it a thrill when I get to go visit the lake.

Toronto's largest body of water, Lake Ontario has been filled with liquid since the glaciers retreated at the end of the last ice age. Nice to visit, but be warned - if you get too close, your shoes will definitely get wet.

The lake is enormous! A boat trip on the lake even as a tour is a must when visiting. Saw the lake from Toronto and Niagara on the lake where you can see the Toronto skyline in the distance.

There are parks along the lake in many places. Don't miss the bluffs near Scarborough, very Doveresque. We visited the lake in many different places, all were amazing.

If you buy a tour bus ticket there is a free lake trip included. We had a really good guide who pointed out sites and gave a good history of Canada

Ashbridges Bay is ideal. It's within walking distance of Woodbine beach. Check out Fishing Toronto's website for more detailed information.

Yes, Niagara on the Lake is beautiful! It has nature and trail, the greenbelt runs along. You can also go shopping and have dinner.
