This is truly worth while stopping to see. The Local community takes great pride in this exhibit and rightfully so. Don't miss this!

It's an exciting experience to visit a replica of the original Hector... a typical ship of that time which brought first Scottish immigrants to Canada. And it was Pictou area where it all had started... Immigrants arrived in fall, they weren't prepared for harsh winter......More

For the amount of $$$ travellers paid over the years the vessel is in terrible condition. It needs painting, planks are rotting. I do not know if it ever had sails. It begs the question...where does the $$$go???

We're Scottish and had seen a documentary about the Hector on tv just a few weeks before our trip to Nova Scotia so a trip to Pictou was put on our itinerary. It was a very interesting visit and the information was laid out well....More

You can go on board this recreation and see how people traveled to Nova Scotia from Scotland. Fascinating.

The replica is so well done. History is so interesting. The tour was fun and informative. Kids loved seeing the inside of the ship.
