The gallery is in two buildings and we were like many there for the Maude Lewis exhibit, which was wonderful. But unlike some other comments here, we found much else that was interesting here and were lucky enough to tag onto a guided tour explaining...More

This gallery is a beautiful historic building and the permanent collection has uniquely Nova Scotian art. The Maud Lewis exhibit was outstanding! Really enjoyed the gallery and gift shop and bistro were great too.

With the exception of the terrific Maud Lewis exhibit, we didn't find anything brilliant here, but if we lived in Halifax we would, for sure, be members. There must have been close to a dozen exhibits covering narrow but interesting aspects of art in all...More

The Maud Lewis exhibit is fantastic. Her small house has been reconstructed inside the gallery. The rest of the gallery is also worth a visit. Very interesting permanent and temporary exhibits.
