We walked there today. It is so wonderful. So much history dating back to the mid 1800’s . The locks are quite the site. There is a off leash dog area which is perfect for us. Lots of weather to view .
The canal runs between Lake Micmac and Lake George. The locks are impressive and there are many historic signs about the building of the canal system in 1826. There's information about the archaeology findings about the 4000 history when the Micmac Indians inhabited the area.

Ii cannot say how many times that I have walked along & even paddled several times! Always gorgeous & pleasnt stroll or paddle & enjoy good clean air! Be sure to check out the interpretation centre too!
