Its a nice spot for a casual stroll in the evening, nothing fancy here.
Boardwalk is quite calming and picture worth.

What A Pleasant Surprise!
Oct. 2019
During our “10-Day Canada and New England” cruise aboard Caribbean Princess ship last October, our ship arrived at the port of Sydney, Canada. As we walked down along the gangway, we were pleasantly surprised by a giant violin standing on the pier next to the cruise ship pavilion! It turned out to be the Sydney’s iconic Celtic Fiddle which was 17 meter tall steel fiddle. It was unveiled in 2005 as a tribute to the folk music and traditions of the Celtic community of the province, and it was touted to be the world’s largest violin/fiddle in the world. The big fiddle, dubbed “Fidheal Mhor A’ Ceilidh” (“Big Fiddle of the Ceilidh”), was supposed to welcome passengers from other Celtic fiddle countries. But the fiddle seemed to be welcoming all the arriving passengers these days. The fiddle is a must see attraction in Sydney, and the cruise ship passengers arriving at the port cannot miss it.

Yup, that's a big fiddle
Aug. 2020 • Couples
It's a big fiddle alright. There are a few other things to see and do in the area. The boardwalk is nice, and there is a good beer garden around the corner.
Nice attraction.

Flavours on the Water.Great harbour view, dining experience was not the same
Aug. 2020
We keep trying to fully enjoy this restaurant but it never seems to give 100%. The tables are set up like a curved alleyway and the noise from the open space below can be overwhelming. We were even there one night when an entire graduating class filed up the stairs , thru a part of the restaurant and into the 2nd floor event space. The food is good but overpriced.

Have to go for the photo!
Aug. 2020 • Family
This fiddle is pretty iconic for the Sydney waterfront, I think it’s worth going to just for the photo opp! You don’t have to stay long and there is a tourism visitor centre next to it

A FewTips About The Big Fiddle
Oct. 2019
Most people get to see the World’s Largest Fiddle when they dock at Sydney. If you come by car, there is ample parking along the harbor front.

The Fiddle is 60 feet high and is made with solid steel. It is quite impressive. You haven’t been to Sydney until you have a photo in front of the “Big Fiddle!”

A large harbor building is in back of the Big Fiddle. There are a number of kiosks and restaurants. The pavilion, the day we visited, featured the author Beatrice MacNeil who wrote “The Geranium Window.”

A walk along the harbor front boardwalk is pleasant. At one end there is a large statue honoring the “Merchant Navy” and their sacrifices. A historical plague in front of it will give you all the information.

We also enjoyed going to “Tim Horton’s” along Charlotte Street. It was quite busy the day we arrived in October. The WIFI is good too.

Worth a Photo
Apr. 2019 • Couples
This is on the Sydney waterfront and makes a great, iconic photo opportunity. It is Sydney’s equivalent of Sudbury’s giant nickel. If you’re in the downtown area, it’s worth a look. Being near the downtown, there’s lots to do and see.
