We stopped at Sydney for the day during a fall cruise to the Canadian Maritimes. The giant fiddle is right at the dock and is quite impressive.

I live not too far from the Big Fiddle and it is definitely a must see for tourist. Our cruise ships visitors dock here. It’s a Cape Breton icon that we are all very proud of

Its by the harbor and its a nice place to take pictures. Its nice for a walk in the evening after you have had a bite to eat at nearby pubs like the The Governor's or the Old Triangle.

I wouldn't make a special trip unless you were close, but it was great to see as we got of our ships tender. It has great celtic history as its founding and the fiddle is certainly big.

The people are so friendly and there is always music and laughter in the air especially when the cruise ships come in. Great spot for family fun and so much to do for everyone of all ages and budgets.

I know it's only a big fiddle but I liked it. No need to make a special trip but the area around it - the boardwalk, shops, etc. - were fun to wander through.

It's not worth a special trip to go see it, but getting off a cruise ship, you will. It's big. That's about the extent of its allure.

We almost missed seeing this bcs of a bunch of tents erected around it, and although it is very large and lovely, we unfortunately didn't see it as a big deal.
