Fort Anne is a historical gem! The Officers' Quarters is being refurbished, so it didn't make for a great photo, but totally understandable. Inside the building were excellent displays and lots of interesting information. There is a beautiful tapestry illustrating the history of the area. If you have children, they will enjoy the Scavenger Hunt. Spectacular views and lots of... More

I enjoyed the grounds and learning about all the battles fought. I love how parks Canada has activity books for the kids to do, and get a prize after for completing some of it. We also stopped at the cemetery after. Interesting to see the years on the stone. Would have loved for someone to tell us there families stories.

We didn't go into the main building, but just to walk on the grounds of the fort and see the old French powderhouse was amazing.

It's so great that the Canadians have preserved historic sites like Fort Anne because we get to visit them! A short drive from Digby, visit the little Annapolis Valley local store on your way into Annapolis. Cost to get in is just lose change. The history in this area is worth seeing!

This is a really low key historic site. It's a gorgeous place to sit and enjoy the view across the river.

Sometimes the best experience is the one least planned. Had the opportunity to visit and no regrets. Great to learn more about our history (is easy to forget how far back the origins of Canada goes). Informative and fun to explore. And the views; awesome. For photo buffs I can only imagine what the magic light would bring, as I... More

Exploring St Anne's exterior fortifications is quite thrilling. It is centrally located, & very well maintained.

Loved walking around the grounds of Fort Anne! Incredible views of the Basin and some of the most magnificent trees I have ever seen. Could not find a more perfect PicNic Place on Earth! Holds the old Cemetery full of stories and also offers a Cemetery hosted after dark...so cool! The museum is very cute too! Canadian History at it's... More

First off there is only 1 building from the original Fort and that is the Powder house. There is a lot of history here if you are interested in that other wise you're walking areoun looking at signboards of what use to be. Lots of grassy open areas for kids to run around. The plus side , no money lost... More
