We watched whales spouting all the way around the point. They are working to restore some of the WWII artifacts, which will be great once completed. Could sit and watch the ocean for hours.

We visited on a beautiful warm sunny day. You can drive up to the site, then it's a walk of about 200 metres up the steps to the lighthouses. Fantastic views and we were able to see lots of whales swimming nearby. Interesting house around...More

This was a great hike up to the two lighthouses at Cape Spear. The interesting foliage was nice to see, as were several whales frolicking just off-shore!

Some trails are closed for construction. Be careful near cliffs as trail closure on far side not well marked. We walked down and didn't realize we were in an off limits area until we came up and trail closed at the top! Still eye popping...More

You have to walk up the hill to get to the Lighthouses. If you just want to go to the easternmost point of North America, there is a different trail from the parking lot. Be prepared to walk both distances. I got there after hours...More
