Great place to walk or hike for a couple or family. Don't expect to do it in a day

It's a fantastic place to hike, well maintained place. It's a lot to do so you wouldn't finish it in a day. Great beauty while hiking.

The east coast trail is the jewel of our city! Anyone visiting Newfoundland needs to take in at least a short walk on the trail. At over 500 km, there is a hike for any level or preference. For those staying in the city, the hikes around Quidi Vidi and Signal Hill are easy and scenic. The hike above Fort... More

Over the past 20 years I have trekked on almost every section of the ECT (East Coast Trail), some sections multiple times. If you want to do a certain section, I would recommend getting the trail maps from ECTA, check out their website or purchase a locally written trail book that includes the ECT. These guides give details on the... More

This is a world-class series of hiking trails. Most can be done in 3-4 hrs and may require drop off at one site and pick up at another (or leave vehicle at the end site). One of the toughest hikes is to the Spout (usually a 2 day hike with tenting area available) but it is one hike to put... More

There are sections of the east coast trail for every hiker. From long challenging hikes to short mostly level walks. Each section of the East Coast Trail has a different feel and some different scenery to take in. It offers some of the best hiking I've done anywhere. The trails are usually clear and easy to follow, and are maintained... More

The east coast trail is well maintained and rated for various levels of difficulty. All have breath taking views and follow the beautiful coastline. Many take in some of the greatest attractions NL has to offer.

The drive along Highway 10 is quite picturesque, with lots of bays and small villages to visit. Definitely a lovely drive.

We hiked the section beginning in Petty Harbour and traveled south. It began with a steep climb, but then leveled off and brought us out of the forest into blueberry bushes as far as you could see. The trail is rough to begin, but further in it had been recently improved. From the trail you can see Cabot Tower on... More

Something for everyone along this beautiful expanse. The scenery is dramatic and varied. The weather can change in a record short time so be prepared for fog and rain to roll in- but those are some of the most beautiful moments. Never enough time here when we are able to visit.

Trails offer serene and beautiful scenic opertunities, all the while getting some good exercise. These trails are broken into several hour trips some longer and some shorter.Next year for my holidays I plan on taking a tent and walk the entire trail. I have pretty much walked most of the trails on day trips and was never disappointed.
