Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Drove up here out of curiosity and I had some time to kill. I was also looking for the Saint Johns sign too. I did find it up here although given its size its was a little tough to get a good photo.
The Fort itself wasn't much to look at and it was locked up so you can't enter it. There was some interesting historical plaques around. As for the views, it was a little foggy the day I was here so there wasn't any great views to be had.
Happy I went but I would only recommend this on a clear day to see the city and harbor otherwise there's really not a lot here.

We walked here after seeing Reversing Falls. There wasn't much here but was interesting to see. The fort itself was locked up so we couldn't go inside. we did go up farther to read the monument about the fort. The views were really great, which is why the fort was built here i the first place.

We were quite disappointed by the lack of information on site. The block house was locked up and there were no staff/guides there either. As history fans we were very disappointed. On the positive side the location is superb for views and pictures of the city.

Good views of the city but really nothing much to see here. Not worth the time if you are not right by it anyway.

There’s really not much there that’s worth visiting. Not much to see, all the lookout point really does is give you a view of the city and you can look at a wooden lookout tower, but it’s really nothing special. If you want a place to stop on the way to reversing falls, go for it, but if not, it isn’t really worth going out of your way to get to. There weren’t really any plaques or anything explaining history, the 17 year old with us wasn’t impressed at all.

Lots of history here. Parks Canada does a great job with these sites, and we enjoyed the visit. Consider buying a "Discover Pass" if you are going to visit many Parks Canada sites, it is a good deal and valid for the next two years.

This is a site that needs some money poured into it. There is nothing at Fort Howe except a plaque and a view of the city...it will take you a maximum of 5 minutes to view all of it.

Beautiful views over the city and harbour. Originally built in 1777 to protect the British interests in the harbour, today it is a replica of what once stood there.

We found Fort Howe ,it is high up on a hill behind the Saint John’s sign. It needs work and love , but it is worth a stop. It is historical it has views of the city. The Block house need work also but was also worth the visit. My kids loved it also. Maybe they can put some money and love into this place. Thank you
