This was the first stone church to be built in the city and it survived the fire which destroyed much of St John. It looks old from the outside, but the inside has been updated for modern day use.

The outside of the church is stunning, but the inside is nothing special, so no problem if it is locked. But do read the plaque outside the church....quite interesting.

Not a long walk from the cruise port, but it was closed when we were there. The church itself has a nice story but without going inside it's hard to say it's worthwhile to visit

Really beautful and you will love to spend time looking at the glass as well as the structure. Remember to wear good shoes and dress for the weather. This was one of our little treat here.

The Stone Church is a beauty in the heart of Saint John, New Brunswick. It was built in 1824-1825 and is one of the first gothic revival churches of Canada. Main worship service is Sundays at 10:45 am followed by coffee hour.

Unfortunately the church is currently under going major renovations so it is closed to visitors but the outside is spectacular. At least stop by long enough to take a picture.

Unfortunately we couldn't see much BUT the contractor let us poke our heads in so we could see a bit. This will be a nice restoration.
