An official Tundra Buggy® Adventure is the best and safest way to view the majestic polar bear in its natural environment and is an ideal tour option if you are planning your own travel and accommodations in Churchill.

Tundra Buggy Day Tours include expert interpretation in the Churchill Wildlife Management Area about the wildlife and the magnificent ecosystems surrounding the subarctic environment of Churchill. You will have the opportunity to explore the open tundra while your driver discusses the effects of tides, currents and ice formation on the polar bear. Wildlife you spot may include polar bears, arctic hare, arctic and red fox, gyrfalcon, ptarmigan and much more.

Please note that Tundra Buggy Day Tours take place on a 40-passenger Tundra Buggy® and during peak seasons have a tendency to sell to capacity. We highly recommend booking your Tundra Buggy Day Tour(s) as early as possible.

I have to say that if this is your only experience of viewing bears you will probably think it is brilliant but we had just finished a walking trip at Dymond Lodge with Churchill Wild. There was no comparison, you did not get as close and it was a long, not very comfortable trip out to the shore to see... More

We saw nine bears on our day. Three of the bears were cubs of the year with their mothers. We also saw two sub adult males standing and sparing with each other. On this day we were in the front of the buggy and it was the place to be for the best viewing. Although everyone tried to move around... More

One day that will make you see the planet differently! We took our nine year old grandson, who learned a lot about nature first hand and not through an electronic device. Our buggy driver, Neil was so generous with his knowledge of the Bears and life on the tundra. Everyone should experience the North at least once in your lifetime!... More

I only had 1 day in the buggy but it was the experience of a lifetime. Our guide, Kevin, was fantastic. He was knowledgeable, personable and professional the whole time. We saw more than 10 polar bears on our trek and he made sure we got prime viewing of many of these magnificent creatures. I loved every single part of... More

This is the best way to see polar bears up close. We went with Frontier's North adventures, small group of 21 with 40 seats tundra buggy, almost everybody had a window seat. Big buggy very comfortable. We saw a mom with 2 cubs, one cute cub was very curious, came to the back deck of buggy in front of us,... More

One of only 2 companies that enter the wildlife conservation area to view polar bears. (The second company is Great White Bear). Tundra buggies are decked-out enlarged school buses on monster wheel tires. Outfitted with a gas heater, pump toilet, and back viewing deck. Holds 40 people per bus. Despite having a heater, it is chilly on the bus when... More

I had two days on the buggy as part of a package deal. Saw 4-5 bears on the first day and two close up. Second day the weather was quite poor and didn't see as much until late in the day where we had a wonderful sighting of a male bear ducking in and out of the bushes to scratch... More

We enjoyed our tour and saw about 5 bears, which was great. Driver was knowledgable and engaging. You get coffee, snack and lunch on board. Most of the 8 hour day is travel but the day goes fast. Quite expensive though.
