great family activity

It's a nice trip for the whole family especially with young childs. Lovely tour on a litle river. Well organized, a bus bring you back to Whistler after you finish the tour.

The River of Golden Dreams kayak trip seemed like an ideal activity for us -- a 2-3 hour trip across Alta Lake and down the Golden River of Dreams. Flat steady current and no rapids, ideal for our experience level. The trip starts with a trek across Alta Lake which offers unbelievable views of the towering mountains that make up... More

Thanks for the review. Yes the river get s low in late summer and we try to ensure all guests are notified of the levels. In the spring the river is the exact opposite and we have to be clear that the flow is fast with a lot of water flow. The river is never the same. Glad our staff... More

Our family of 4 (include 2 teenagers aged 14 and 16) decided at last minute to do a kayak trip down the River of Golden Dreams. It was on Sun Sept 4 with cloudy weather. We took the 3PM self guided kayak trip. Each of us took a single kayak. The trip started with a short 10 min drive from... More

I was given a kayaking trip along The River of Golden Dreams by daughter during a trip to BC in Juky, I didn't really know what to expect, was it going to be a fast moving group event or a more leisurely affair? Well it was fantastic there were 3 boats so just 6 of us including our wonderful guide... More

Thanks Harriet I am so happy you and your family had a great time. As you mentioned not only are our guides there to provide safety and paddling tips, they are a book of knowledge of the region which makes the Guided Tour so much more satisfying. Thanks Bill. Yes when the river is flowing it is less work. July is a good month to paddle the river. Though as mentioned by a client in September when the water flow is low it too can be a blast shooting the beaver dams. A different yet fun challenge as well. In the spring the river is more for... This trip is a blast! The people in the store were very friendly and our guide Serge was great, very personable and quite knowledgable about the Whistler area. As we paddled through Alta lake and the river he pointed out the various mountain peaks and suggested some of the hikes in the area. We were also lucky enough to paddle... More

We took the self-guided tour, two single kayaks down. I am a fairly experienced paddler but my wife is just starting to learn - we both had a great time. This quick route gives you a taste of three different paddles - gorgeous lake, quiet creek, and then medium-speed river. Good service by the guides - pay attention to their... More

Thanks Ian. The paddle is great fun right now with 3 types of conditions as you mentioned. This time of year the river does increase in volume and speed. Do not let the River's name fool you. If you are inexperienced please book a Guided Tour. It is actually less expensive rather than needing a rescue which comes along with... More

We have done the pedal and paddle tour (mountain bike and kayaking) which took us roughly 4 hours @ 300$ per couple which is the best bang for the buck you will be able to get in Whistler. The moderate difficulty was perfect for people who had done kayak and biking once of twice in the past couple years. Chris... More

Best done in early summer when the water levels are higher. It's a lovely paddle another a waterway that is more like a stream than a river, passing through forest and marsh lands.
