Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The U. Vic grounds and gardens are beautiful and the campus is well situated in Victoria. Easy to get around, offers great programs and so many more options than what they had when I used to attend many years ago. Brought back great memories!

its an average size campus pretty but not as interesting as ones you can find on the east coast, buildings are nice and campus tours were not really offered for visitors in the summer, parking is a problem no real drive through for the campus

For those that love visiting University Campuses, this one is worth the drive up the coast maybe 20 mins from downtown Victoria. Stop by some of the neighbourhood restaurants on Estevan Avenue.

The natural beauty of the UVic campus is marred by its buildings, which, save for the First People's House, all look like examples of the worst architectural atrocities of each of the decades they were built in. The main cluster around the quad all would fit in well amongst dystopian Soviet prisons. The nightmare inducing Cornett building should be visited by all, much in the same way that the genocide museum in Phnom Penh is an important learning experience.
Also, trying to do anything through the bungling campus administration offers a a real life experience of Kafka's "The Trial." Kerry Delaney, head of the Biology Department, is a powerhungry nit-wit of Orwellian proportions. It is as if he were a living parody of the fascist leaders of the mid 20th Century.

It's a University and you'll see exactly what you might expect: students walking from here to there. Students sitting around. Profs walking around. Buildings with offices and classrooms and labs.
UVic does have a fabulous botanical garden, and that's a separate attraction, listed here on Tripadvisor.

I did my Master's at U Vic and taught there for 22 years, so I'm prejudiced, but it is a good school. I attended or taught at three others, and visited many more, and U Vic is friendly, easy to get around, and his great facilities. If you're an athlete, it has good teams in various sports. As a place to visit, the Finnerty Gardens are among the best in Victoria, and free. Also a good art gallery, and most buildings have art as well.

The UVic campus is a great space that is ideal for studying and socialising. With a number of food courts, study areas, quads and green spaces the campus is very aesthetic and relaxing. The sports facilities and library are great and the campus is reasonably spread out and doesn't seem hectic or too crowded!

All I can really remember about this place is stumbling around the campus drunk and all the crazy parties. UVIC rocks!
