Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I haven't been here in a while. With the increase in density in this part of Victoria this urban market/mall has been constantly changing since it was conceived. Standing at the East end, you now have a full view all the way to Douglas Street. Vendors on either side will tempt you with food, beverage and trinkets. A vision still not fully realized, (maybe some art input will help draw, hehe). Being next to bus stop is handy.

I would not go out of my way to see it, but if you're around the area it'd be a good spot to drop by to take a look at the stalls and grab a bit of lunch...

After living in Vancouver, B.C. and visiting the market there several times, this one is very disappointing. It is very small with only about 10 vendors and most of those are food places. We did stop at The Chocolate Project and found it very fascinating. The owner was very knowledgeable. He has judged chocolate from all over the world and the shop sells award winning chocolate from all different countries. All the chocolate is sustainable. We bought several different bars of chocolate and some Chocolate Syrup and Salsa which is made right in the building. Both are very good.

I loved this adorable market. Every town should have one because it truly makes the town that much more special. Kind of reminds me of Milwaukee’s public market. Adorable restaurants, with vegan options. Super cute retail stores, with home furnishings and kitchen supplies, etc. Little jewelry stands. A tea store. Clean, with friendly people. Can’t wait to go back!

One of our favorite stops in Victoria! We always buy tea, spices, chocolate and some of the best food from the the pie place, bakery and poutine waffles! Truly local artisans! Take the time to go and try things you may not have tried before - it’s worth it!

A great public market with meals to suit everyone. The food stalls all offer great sized meals and is all undercover. Must visit when in Victoria.

After visiting the public market in Seattle (Pike Place) we were really disappointed in this one. It’s not really a public market at all. It’s a collection of little shops and food places in a big old industrial building. It’s still a decent place to look around, especially if the weather isn’t good. There’s a nice seating area in the middle and the place has an old-timey feel. We were a little disappointed in the French bakery which had very little to choose from. One of the main eateries on the first level was putting its chairs away and getting things closed up two hours before closing time. The kitchen shop is cool and the pies looked really good. It’s worth a stop but don’t expect a true public market.

Arrived right at the11am opening. Don’t be looking for very many shops because there aren’t very many. We had just finished breakfast so we weren’t hungry when we visited. Although we didn’t eat there were several places to get a bite to eat. Prices seemed a little high but fresh baking I’m sure comes at a price. In and out in 20 mins. Been there done that, don’t really have to go again on my next visit to Victoria. I guess I was hoping for something more.

We hit this place on Saturday AM, and it was a LOT smaller then we all expected... Being from Seattle, and knowing what our Public Market is all about.

The vendors here had quality products, and the food vendors had very good items.

Just don't plan to spend a lot of time here...
