Beautiful sunny day. Had a nice lunch in the tearoom. Now, the tearoom and kitchen and the helpful people in the costume museum are all volunteers, so things don't always go quite right. The volunteers are helpful and kind, so use a bit of patience...More

These gardens are free to visit and worth it. We didn't have time to tour the house but was able to visit the gardens after hours and it is definitely worth it.

The gardens at Government house are stunning, as is the community around the House. A quiet oasis in the middle of the city.

The the grounds are very rarely closed - the last time was when the Prince and Princess and children stayed there. Other than that, I can't recall a time when the grounds were not open to the public.

There is a small parking area beside the main house and another near the Mews service buildings. It's visible on Google Earth.
