Since 1914, the 772-seat McPherson Playhouse has been at the heart of Victoria's community arts scene. Built as part of the Pantages Theatre chain, this historic theatre is host to local companies including Kaleidoscope Theatre, Victoria Operatic Society, and Blue Bridge Repertory Summer Theatre in addition to presenting many professional theatre and concert performances year round. The McPherson lobby is home to The Gallery at the MAC, a showcase for local and regional visual art.

What a superb venue. Such a rich history. So many great performances that have been enjoyed. It's like going back in time. It's small enough as to not overwhelm, and big enough to feel like a NY experience. The mezzanine boxes are a hoot. And...More

We have gone to see a few productions since moving to the area in this theatre. Be aware that only certain areas of this theatre are accessible by wheelchair, and that there exists No Elevator to access the upper floors. If you're using a wheelchair,...More

I have been to many productions here and the seating is good and fairly easy for wheelchairs. Great shows and a nice place to enjoy an evening out .A Dress up affair.

Nice local theatre with lots of local productions of plays and some concerts. A pretty standard theatre with decent sound.

My family went to see Potted Potter recently. We really enjoyed it! The building is great, and the acoustics are wonderful, even in our high up, balcony seating.

My first time at this beautiful, cozy playhouse! I went to see John Cleese & Eric Idle here, it was my first time. I love the traditional red & gold decor and the small seating capacity which really cultivates an intimate setting. Leg space is...More

I have been in the McPherson theatre for various types of shows, like the Royal Theatre. They are both run by the City of Victoria. They are both reputed to be haunted from accounts from staff and customers. They were mentioned on a web site...More

MacPherson Theatre is slightly larger than the RoyalTheater. The washrooms are a little better, but not by a big difference.
