Love this place!

Great beer! Ask for the paddle. Also, try the nachos here! They're good. Came with friends and with the family too.

I stopped at Steamworks for dinner and a few beer while I waited for my friends to pick me up. The staff was very friendly and allowed me to try ever beer before ordering. Even though, I had at least a quarter pint of each beer myself! I order 2 flights of 4 quarter pints. They ran out of Flagship... More

This place is huge and right on the water. If you go downstairs you can watch them brew the beer in huge copper bats and let the steam off, while sitting at the bar. Friendly staff, busy pub, but not too loud, sound didn't feel amplified. Stuffed mushroom caps were delicious, but couldn't taste the salmon. Calamari was delicious. Nice... More

We popped in here for lunch on a whim, as I had really enjoyed the Steamworks Flagship IPA when I was in Whistler. It's huge, we were seated in a basement dining area alongside the actual microbrewery. The food was pretty good gastropub stuff, and the beer as good as ever. Tasty deserts were enormously proportioned. No specific kids menu... More

I have been a patron for many years. Great selection of beers brewed on site. Good food menu. Nice to sit outside on the patio and people watch. Good venue for a group.

Ended up meeting a friend here for a drink on a Monday night, even then it was busy enough. We got food, pizza and that sort of thing. Tasted good, reasonably priced, I like their lagar and I'm not a beer drinker. A must visit bar.

I love trying out a pub for lunch. Vancouver has its fair share with a great deal of choice. Steamworks shares its brews across this land of ours. The Flagship IPA paired with the spring greens, berry and nuts salad was a delicious choice. The service was quick and attentive by both the hostess, bartender and server. The view of... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our first trip to Vancouver and evening alfresco dinner of fresh local fish and produce. Excellent service from staff. Two happy Kiwis. Thank you.

Overlooking the waterfront itself. Right down in Gastown and very near the Gastown clock. Good variety of food and excellent beers.

Stopped in here a couple times during my Vancouver trip. Nice selection of beers. Enjoyed a salad and a burger. Both very good. Loved the history of the place and of the gas town area. Interesting to learn how they are the only brewery using steam power.

Staying in Gastown

Neighbourhood Profile
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
