This expansive beach offers fantastic picnicking opportunities, swimming, beach volleyball, or simply a panoramic view of Vancouver and the mountains. Spanish Banks tends to be a quieter beach which makes it very family-friendly.

The winding beach area has areas prime for photography of the Vancouver skyline as well as the mountains to the north of the city. While the barges anchored in the bay can be seen as an obstruction to the view they do lend to the...More

On a sunny Christmas morning this open space with family and dogs was a popular meeting place. A sea otter kept a small crowd busy as he swam ashore with a duck in its mouth, hiding between rocks to despatch it.

We went for a stroll on a winter afternoon and enjoyed the great views across the ocean: downtown on the right, West Vancouver in front and the mountains on the left. Incredible place, it must be awesome in summer!

Spectacular, Especially on a rainy Vancouver day when you are the only one there. (pretty nice when it's sunny out too!) Great views of the mountains and city.

I love this area . The beaches are huge and clean . There are concession buildings with washrooms strung out along the several beaches although only Spanish Banks East concession is open for business in the winter months. All the washrooms are open every day...More

Fantastic views of busy harbour. No mountain views because of low ceiling. Beautiful trees and brush. Some logs to hop over. Cold and wet day perfect for noodling along sand flats. Some small birds and several happy dogs to entertain the rest of us. We...More

There are a lot of great walking trails and this area has a lot. Great views, clean trails, bathrooms, nice place to take your dogs and children.

West Point Grey
West Point Grey is one of the city’s oldest
neighbourhoods, especially known for its easygoing and
admired beachfronts. Locals crowd the Spanish Banks
and Jericho Beach, especially in the summer, where a
sprawling view of the English Bay awaits. The central
village is an oasis of sovereign shops, many of them
in local operation for years. The neighbourhood has a
more personal feeling to it, and can be a wonderful
