This expansive beach offers fantastic picnicking opportunities, swimming, beach volleyball, or simply a panoramic view of Vancouver and the mountains. Spanish Banks tends to be a quieter beach which makes it very family-friendly.

Have had a few family gatherings here on the most westerly part of the park. Dogs can go off leash here. Also they allow kitesurfing on the western portion of the beach- you will see them when it is windy!
Check the tide tables, it...More
Spanish banks is a vast expanse of shallow beach, where you can walk for an hour on the tidal flats when the tide is out. It's fabulous place to walk rain or shine, 12 months of the year, with spectacular views of the North Shore...More
If you follow the seaside pathway/bike trail from the foot of Burrard Street around Coal Harbor, Stanley Park, English Bay and across to Kitsilano - you are on your way, heading west, to Spanish Banks. The end of seaside pathway is approximately 9 km from...More
Went there to hopefully have a swim but found that the tide was out and you needed to walk a long distance out of of the beach to get to the water. So unfortunately no swimming. However, this did not stop us having a great...More

At low tide you can walk almost a kilometer on the sand bar. It's very tranquil and peaceful here. A great place to sunbathe, read a book, meditate, do yoga, or just relax. So close to the city, yet feels like being in the country!...More
My favorite beach in Vancouver. Love watching the tides. Not as packed as Kits beach and even more breathtaking. Water seems cleaner than at English Bay or Kits Beach, but it's still vancouver so don't expect clear turquoise water lol.
This is part of the long coast line of Vancouver, right after Jericho. It is the last 'beach' area before wreck beach (clothing optional beach) at the University. Spanish banks offers you lots of places to play volleyball, seat by the logs, and watch the...More
West Point Grey is one of the city’s oldest neighbourhoods, especially known for its easygoing and admired beachfronts. Locals crowd the Spanish Banks and Jericho Beach, especially in the summer, where a sprawling view of the English Bay awaits. The central village is an oasis of sovereign shops, many of them in local operation for years. The neighbourhood has a more personal feeling to it, and can be a wonderful
and much-needed break from the bustle of big-city life, being a little haven of peace and quiet with an almost village temperament in the heart of Vancouver.
