About
The Fair at the PNE is the best part of summer! For the last two weeks of August through the Labour Day long weekend, The Fair features more than 50 rides and attractions, nightly concerts, live performances, agricultural and animal displays, games, and food. It's fun for all ages plus children 13 years and under are free with an adult admission. The Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) fairgrounds was established in 1910 to showcase British Columbia. The PNE operates on a 114-acre site at the City of Vancouver-owned Hastings Park and consists of Playland, the annual 15-day Fair at the PNE, and Fright Nights at Playland. The PNE also includes year-round rental facilities for concerts, conventions, trade shows and sporting events with the Pacific Coliseum the largest venue within Hastings Park. The Pacific Coliseum was proud to be the official venue for Short Track Speed Skating and Figure Skating during the 2010 Winter Olympic Games and is currently home to the WHL's Vancouver Giants hockey team. No single location in Vancouver captures the spirit and history of this city, its people and its many achievements as the Pacific National Exhibition. For over 100 years, millions of guests have enjoyed shows, exhibits, sporting events, amusement rides, concerts, cultural activities and, of course, the annual Fair at the PNE. The 2017 Fair at the PNE is August 19 to September 4 (closed Monday, August 21 & 28)

Aurora
Dec. 2019
My family together with my garndchildren went to visit this place on a beautiful Thursday night. We all love the lights and decor, they were awesome, made you feel like a kid. From the main entrance and the entire compound great job! There were characters from Aurora theme and my grandchildren enjoyed and participated. They also loved the rides, one thing though, the food prices are too expensive, but will recommend this place, one good advice bring your own drinks and snacks,

A day at the fair
Sep. 2019 • Couples
A great day! We enjoyed the duelling pianos and at least we got to see the Beach Boys on the Big Screen. We were disapointed at how the tickets were handled for what we thought was a free concert with admission . It would be nice if the screen was set so you could see it from the beer garden. It would also be nice if security would ask the noisy folks to move along. We know it is fun for all, but most of us gathered there were trying to listen and watch the concert... they were other parts of the fairgrounds for them to hang out.

Second visit not a charm.
Aug. 2019
I have been to the PNE twice and the IPE in Armstrong 4 times. I would recommend the IPE over the PNE. The PNE seem s to focus too much on food. The food lane does offer a lot of variety but the prices make it somewhat prohibitive for families.Really, how many choices do we need? The IPE offers better parking and shuttle service for attendees and a great area of product booths demonstrating everything from art to pellet stoves. It is not the fault of management at the PNE. The location and size of the grounds restricts the options. I was not able to stay for the evening shows but I think would have found a couple of them well worth attending. The shoes are an excellent offer and I think reasonably priced.

Great Time Attending Collective Soul at the PNE
Aug. 2019
We had a great time during our first visit to the PNE, so much to do, drink and eat. A highlight was that there was beer available and we didn't have to sit in a caged in area to drink it. All of the free entertainment was awesome and we had no trouble navigating around the site. The Collective Soul concert was amazing, we thought the amphitheater set up was perfect and were also glad we payed a small fee to reserve seats in the bleachers.

a highlight for the young
Aug. 2019
this was a great experience for my grandchildren. they enjoyed many of the rides---some of their favourites were visited 6 times as they had so much fun. unfortunately, some of the more adult rides were shut down for maintenance.

A Disorganized and Loud Mess
Sep. 2019
Who doesn’t enjoy breathing in toxic butane fumes or watching the human get overly excited at the prospect of food? I had to wonder if some visitors had ever sat on chairs before, or if they hadn’t been fed in several weeks.

In between the frenzied hoards with low standards, there was a sprinkling of seemingly normal people, no doubt hoping for a family friendly fun experience. These people looked terrified and bewildered, unable to navigate safely through the gridlock and the hoards of the easily amused mesmerized by the techno music pumping through the clogged arteries of the walkways everywhere.

It’s just one big commercial venue for Telus and all the other vendors who ply their wares while for some reason having the world’s worst music cranked to ear splitting levels. Seriously, who says “I need a new phone, I better go to the PNE to buy one”...really?

I never used to believe in the concept of Hell; but now I believe it’s possible that people who sin in their lifetime will be forced to spend eternity trapped in front of the Tim Horton’s stage, being slowly deafened. Be good, kids, or you’ll be sent to a scorching hot place where you’ll be bombarded by burning barbequed flesh, unrelenting pitches for the PNE Prize Home and the Pig Race Guy’s endless spiel about cleaning up “poop.”

The PNE is a sad statement of where Vancouver has deteriorated in multiple ways. The City of Vancouver still owns this enterprise, another added shame on them.

Enjoy the super dogs and the mini donuts. Always lots to see and do. Glad that they have designated smoking areas.

Clean, diverse and lots to do
Aug. 2019
This is my first year at the PNE and I was not disappointed. It is large, well laid out, has something for everyone and also generally clean. Different than other fairs, it has a decent variety of food, actually stuff that isn’t fried in heavy grease or deep fried... although those are always available. The marketplace is large and you can buy any TV late night gizmo, for a higher price that also includes one free of something.

The highlight this year was the CN 100 year exhibit. A complete container village with a history in pictures, videos and books.

We may go back next year and try some more unique food

Fun place for family

I wish that the speed passes were better organized. I had to go to 4 booths before getting them. Park should have a runner going to booths instead of asking patrons to walk across park

Win a house win a car!
Aug. 2019
The PNE is an annual tradition in our house. Touring the show home. Running through the show mart. The super dogs. Then trying tons of fair food. Not entirely good for you but it is great to see all the new additions every year. The free concerts are usually pretty great. This year they added a bunch of classic cars which was great.
