- DebbyShaka's Rock, South Africa446 contributionsMeeting PlaceThis is a place to meet ... either you are doing a cruise or you use it as a meet location. The views are pleasant and one has the option of watching the cruise ships or the water planes coming and going. Can be crazy with people and traffic can also bisy and noisy. Canada place has places to eat but I did not experience any.Visited September 2023Travelled soloWritten 8 November 2023
- NorCal-traveler08Orangevale, California2,316 contributionsMagical at Christmas TimeCanada Place at Christmas is magical. From the decorated Christmas trees, red and green sails and light installations it is beautiful in the day time or at night. We also did the Fly Over Canada ride with the Christmas twist and it was so much fun soaring over Canada and the North Pole. Highly recommend at Christmas.Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 19 December 2023
- Dimitris LSydney, Australia50,924 contributionsPerfect area for a walk and a bite and the views!Canada Place is a large complex of buildings by the waterfront. It contains quite a few amenities, offices, restaurants, cafes and many other shops. Waterplanes take off from there on tours, and the area is perfect for a walk and enjoying the wonderful panoramic views over the water.Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 27 December 2023
- ZitatravelLondon, United Kingdom829 contributionsNice area to wander around for viewsNice area to wander around on the harbour. Good views . There was a passenger liner in when we were there so could not walk all the way round. The shoreline walk on the left is a better walk with lots of bars and restaurants . So Canada Place is your starting point for a visit to the Harbour.Visited April 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 29 April 2024
- gmcj2017South Shields, United Kingdom6 contributionsGreat customer service!Just wanted to post this review by way of a huge thank you to Joseph (and Mark) for helping us to negotiate our boarding process to our Holland America Inside Passage and Alaskan cruise. Holland America security staff were both unhelpful and rude (we had no bar code to our pass but all of the documents and hadn't received the barcode before leaving home and could not access the app at the terminal). When we were eventually directed to the right place we encountered Joseph who did his utmost to reassure, calm and resolve our situation. He is an asset to your team - sorry Joseph that this has taken me so log to write and hoping that someone at the Port may let you know of this. Many thanks againVisited June 2024Travelled soloWritten 13 July 2024
- mschue22Canada68 contributionsAmazing building, beautiful design and architectureBeautiful building which reminds me of the Sydney Opera House (in Sydney, Australia) because of the sails on the roof making Vancouver famous for being a port city. The designs were fantastic. I highly recommend to take some photos of the Canada Place building!Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 26 August 2024

This is a free place to visit and we visited while waiting for the FlyOver Canada to open. We had no idea that the port was that large.
The Port of Vancouver Discovery Centre is a great place to learn about the port, and engage in the stories and ideas that have shaped our port city.
Learn about: early port development, trade, innovation and shipbuilding; harbor operations today; working on the waterfront; environmental programs; facts and statistics
Features interactive touchscreens, featuring animated graphics and informative videos; historical artifacts and ship models; west-facing views of Vancouver harbor
access to the Canada Place promenade
It was a great experience.

The views are great. As a place to promenade while waiting to board a cruise ship, it's nice enough. The former Olympic torch now looks out of place on a sunny day. However, this day it was also a place where a very noisy demonstration was taking place, and it made it feel threatening. I was anxious to leave the promenade.
In all, it's a gathering place - whether yours or someone else's.

Canada Place is Vancouver’s Waterfront Convention Center. It 0.7-miles from downtown Vancouver by transport bus.
It is home to Vancouver-Alaska cruises, houses the Vancouver Convention Center East, the Pan Pacific Hotel, FlyOver Canada, a video experience, Canada’s World Trade Center, and the Indigo Parking Center.
Our business there was with the Cruise Ship Terminal, and we arrived at the Cruise Terminal by transport bus. This is a large busy cruise terminal that seemed like a warehouse, where one checks their bags through to the ship, if this has not already been done by your hotel. You also verify your check-in to your ship and receive your on-board ID card. You are screened, and photographed, and also must pass through US Customs and Border Protection.
Lots of lines, long wait times, official photographs, and crowded areas. It’s all routine procedure, but it feels endless. You’ll need your travel documents as they are checked and rechecked, and during this waiting/verification time as a captive audience, you’ll be solicited by photographers and other salespeople. There are restrooms which are clean, but no food service. No one was actually rude, but we found the process took too much time and was somewhat unpleasant.
Your cruise ship may also disembark at this location, and then you will need a completed declaration card and to clear Canada’s Border Service Agency after you pick up your luggage. The Cruise Terminal is ADA compliant and provides wheelchairs and mobility scooters for rent. They are pre-booked. Documented Service Animals on leash are permitted. Luggage storage is available for cruise passengers only.

The cruise terminal was very hard to get around in, and there was no help for people who could not walk for long distances. The minions who were there to guide passengers often gave conflicting information that sent us in circles, way finding was very poor. There was no one to help from the cruise line except at their check in line.

Great place to go and look back at the city and along the waterfront. Unique design makes it a great place for pictures. Can be very busy in the summer with up to three large cruise ships in port, but worth the walk around. Even a good spot at the end to look over to the North Shore and relax for a bit! It is part of the Seawall walk as well and a good spot to start your jog.

Nothing much there. If you're taking a cruise, then this is the place to go. The only other thing there is Fly Over Canada, which I would highly discourage you from spending your hard earned money on. Poor production, boring and way, way overpriced.

cruise centre very well organised if very busy at times . you can leave you luggage there until 4.45pm for a reasonable charge. there are a few hotels within walking distance and its also on a 5minute walk to the railway station and the sky train out to the airport (very cheap ticket too) lovely area to walk around with plenty of places to eat and drink .Plenty of taxis available too.

The pointed white awnings represent a city icon along with the background buildings. It is where they arrive. the cruise ships, has the convention center and from there leaves a public ferry for Victoria and also the place from where the hydroplanes take off and land. The Fly Over show is set here. And some restaurants and shops.

Driving in from Port Orchard, Washington to catch a cruise on Royal Caribbean in Vancouver. What’s the best (and most inexpensive) place to park for the 11-night cruise?
Written 14 January 2020
I’m not sure of the cost but there was a car park at the cruise terminal. Either contact Royal Caribbean or google car parks at Vancouver cruise terminal. Or contact the Vancouver tourism board, I’m sure there must be one.

I am sorry but I cannot help you. I assume you have asked your travel agent and the Cruise Liner.

Merci !
Hugues

Getting ashore at Canada place from Cruise ship, where can I find luggage storage after disembarkation at 9.00 AM for some hours, as our flight back to Europe is only at 6.00 PM?
Written 4 June 2019
Canada Place has't this service, but very close to it, half block away, at 250 Howe Street, you'll find BagsAway Luggage Storage. It´s cheap and handy.

Getting off cruise ship and want to catch ferry to Victoria is the terminal close by and what is the name of ferry terminal and should i make reservations for walk on. Also was going to rent car after we get to the island is ther rental places close by

I hope you get off your ship on Canada Place, not East Vancouver near Knight Street. It had happened to me. I was so surprised that I got off the ground.
Vancouver to Victoria, most people take Tsawwassen ferry terminal. If you are on foot, no reservation needed. you may take public transportation: Canada Line - Waterfront to Bridgeport station. Get off on Bridgeport Station and go down to Bus Stop Bay 12. Bus #620 will take you right to ferry terminal (last stop). You do not have to worry about the ferry time. This bus is running so ferry is still in service. If the connection is right, it is only take you around 90 minutes for the trip.
You can take another ferry terminal - Horseshoe Bay but you need more driving time to Victoria.
I do not know on Victoria side for rent a car because I have not been there for a few years. I know there has a bus to downtown Victoria . Downtown should have more car rent shops.
I hope not too late for you.

Is there a cafe at Canada Place. where I can met other passengers before boarding a Holland America Cruise
Written 31 March 2019
In the terminal there is a Starbucks and a small cafe I think called Cold or Coal Harbour Cafe...both are on G level ...outside the Terminal there are several good restaurants but more towards the convention centre...Cactus Club and a host of other ones.

Looking to store luggage after disembarking from a cruise ship - I read on the website that CDS is the service available but we don't need anything fancy. Just large lockers - does anyone know if these exist here?
Written 5 February 2019
No lockers available...storage available in the terminal 7-8$ a piece. It’s located in lobby once you come out of security area near where Taxi line is. If you are booking a room in the Pan Pacific they will store your luggage ...not staying there they can’t help you. No lockers anywhere else.
