I think the train ride is too long and it would be better on the nice weather day. The silver seat which I take are not comfortable, but inside the cabin are clean and still in good condition. The food was okay, you have plenty of snacks, drinks ( non alcohol and alcoholic) but only a few fruit. The staff are... More

This was an amazing trip! Scenery was unbelievable in British Columbia and Alberta - bring a camera with a good high speed lens, as the bald eagles, elk, and bighorn sheep are prominent on this trip. Bring your stretchiest stretch pants, as you will need them. Eating is near-constant, and the quality of food is exceeded only by the niceness... More

We travelled in October after Thanksgiving. We thoroughly enjoyed the vistas, the food, the service and stories from our fellow travellers and guides. We met some interesting people and the Australian girls' poem at the end of the trip was funny. We travelled the gold, enjoyed the free drinks. We travelled Banff to Kamloops to Vancouver. It was a great... More

Like many others we were on the 23rd September train. We were expecting a wonderful 2 day trip with great views but just 1 hour in the train derailed. The company then handled things very badly and after the accident we found it hard to get any information about what had happened and what was going on. After spending most... More

Travelled in September when the train derailed on the outskirts of Vancouver (around 10.30am). Whilst I accept this cannot be helped, the way RM dealt with the incident was dreadful! We were stuck on the train for hours with no information and it took several guests to ring the RM head office from the train after being stuck for hours... More

Booked Gold leaf and the journey was sensational as much food and drink as you could ever want, all of which was great quality. However the extra we paid for Gold leaf service was expensive compared to some friends who travelled on the Silver leaf. The scenery throughout the journey wa amazing.

Like others, I was on the train from Vancouver to Kamloops ending in Jasper on Sept 23rd-24th, 2016. We derailed which isn't even the worst part of the story. The trip was miserable. We didn't see anything. Best part of the trip was in the dark. But after spending a good 'chunk of change' on this trip, it was Rocky... More

This is a great way to get a brief overview of the magnificence that is Canada. The train itself hails from a bygone era- the 1950s- but has been well refurbished in a tasteful and comfortable manner. I chose a single-occupancy twin cabin, which gave me ample space, privacy when I wanted it, and the benefits of an ensuite bathroom.... More

Staying in Yaletown & False Creek North

Neighbourhood Profile
Yaletown & False Creek North
Yaletown has risen from the ashes of its rough-and-tumble industrial past into one of Vancouver's new chicest neighbourhoods. The place responsible for originating of the phrase 'skid row' might not call to mind independently-owned boutiques and terraced cafes, but having swallowed the waterfront lines of False Creek North, the resulting amalgamation transformed the area into an elegant, stylish hotspot with a view. Its youthful vibe owes to the many young families and young professionals who live there, bolstering nightlife and restaurant variety along its cobbled streets. It is the flagship neighbourhood for modern revitalization, and the It-Spot for boutique hotels and modish eats.
