Tofino is a piece of paradise. This tour was right up there, and we could not have been looked after better. Saw bears and a Wolf! Jazz looked after us superbly!

We were up at 5.15Am to go bear spotting with Adventure Tofino. They kitted us out in warm, waterproof kit and then we loaded into zodiac boats to whizz along the Clayoquot Sound - eerily silent and misty in the early morning light. The boat captain knew where to look and so was successful spotting movement on the beaches with several black bears (including a mum and cub) down on the shore turning over rocks looking for crabs. We just sat quietly in the boats watching them from a safe distance so they were not disturbed, but close enough that you could hear their claws clacking on the rocks - amazing experience! We saw 6 bears in total on the 3km peninsula. Special moments

We had an amazing time with Jeff - we did both the bear tour and the whale tour and saw 2 bears on the first one and several whales on the second one. Jeff was very respectful and took care to give the animals plenty of space and didn't chase them and shared lots of interesting facts throughout. The boat trip itself is great fun too, you get to go pretty fast and the views over Tofino and the surrounding islands are stunning. The boats are quite small so everyone gets a great view. One of our favourite things that we did on our trip - would highly recommend!

We did the black bear sighting tour which was wonderful. They went at low tide and we had a 30 minute sighting of a bear foraging in the shore rocks. My best black bear experience of the Canada trip!

WOW!! What a wonderful time we had on both the bear and whale tours!! Ron was our guide both times and he was so knowledgeable and easy going. He even gave us breakfast recommendations for Tofino and hiking options for ucluelet. Many thanks as well to the owner who did not cancel our whale watching tour when the minimum amount of people did not sign up. We would definitely recommend this company and would not hesitate to take a tour with them again.

We were unfortunate to have poor weather on an early morning trip. Low mist made visibility almost impossible at times. Some prolonged waiting and searching only produced 2 very brief bear sightings from quite a distance. Jeff did his best to compensate for the situation by taking us to see seals, giving us some informative commentary and the highlight of the trip was actually the raft of sea otters he took us to see - all swimming on their backs! An unexpected bonus making up for what would otherwise have been a pretty dismal grey wet trip. Thanks Jeff!!

To say we had an absolute blast would be the understatement of the year. Ron took 6 of us on the Hot Springs Cove tour yesterday and I was laughing and smiling so hard my cheeks hurt the rest of the day. We saw a grey whale, a bunch of sea otters, a couple harbour seals and some amazing scenery. When booking this tour I was skeptical of the zodiac boats with the ever changing weather. We lucked out with blue bird skies and a gorgeous day which helped BUT I will say the zodiac boats being open was the BEST PART. We had unobstructed views and had the full effect of ocean spray, the wind in our hair.. I feel very poetic spouting all of this but honest and true I feel like this was life changing (especially for being my first time being in the ocean!!). If I could give more than 5 stars I would. We felt safe, we had a great time and we learned a whole lot. Thank you Ron & Tofino Adventure Tours!! We will be recommending you to anyone and everyone who will listen and we will be return customers for sure!!

Fantastic whale watching tour with Jeff last week. With his experience and fantastic local knowledge, not only did we see beautiful whales in the most perfect setting and conditions, we learned so much about the ecology, history, biodiversity of this region. Jeff was a great guide and enabled us to see so.much more ....sea otters in their nursery, giant sea lions, seals, harbour porpoises. It was such a joy and privilege, thank you

My wife and I went on the Bear Watching Tour on Sunday Sept 17. The weather in Tofino had been lovely and warm for the past few days, but Sunday proved to be the rainiest day our Guide Jeff, had done the tour on this year.
The time of year it is, means the bears are somewhat between eating berries in the bushes and waiting for the salmon run to start! This meant the bears were rather elusive for the first 1.5 hours! You could sense that everyone on the boat thought it was going to be a Zero-Bear Day :-(
Jeff took us first to see the sea otters (awesome!, floating on their backs in a huge back), then to see the harbour seals and then the jelly fish. All very cool but we were still lacking in bears.
Jeff carried on through different inlets and finally, about the time he said the bears had been showing up the past 5 days or so, we saw a young bear, about 2 years old he thought. After this bear ambled back into the bushes, we zoomed over to a different island area and lo and behold, we found a large male bear, around 5-6 years old!
This bear ate and dug for crabs for a long time along the beach and although aware of us, did not seem that concerned with us.
We sat there for a long time, even though we were already closing in on 2.5hours of time. For reference, this tour is scheduled to be 2 to 2.5 hours. By the time we got back to Tofino, it was almost 3 hours. Despite the pouring rain and elusiveness of the bears, Jeff persisted and came through for this tour group! Thanks Jeff, for a great morning.
The gals in the office were also friendly, efficient and kitted us out quickly and properly before we headed out to the water.
We would recommend this tour and company!
