A friend of mine recommended this company for a bear-watching tour and I must say it was one of the best recommendations I've ever received. Since Mike was on vacation, his daughter did the tour and she did a great job. There were only three other people on this small boat, which made it possible for everybody to move around... More

There are a lot of companies in Tofino that offer tours for whales and/or bears in Tofino, and Browning Pass does offer those tours, as well. However, we were looking specifically to see and photograph Sea Otters, and Lynn offered a private charter for 3 hours. She was very knowledgable about when/where we were likely to find them. We did... More

Went out with our skipper Mike on a beautiful morning, smooth sailing lots of information from Mike about the area and wildlife. We sighted 6 bears including a mother and her cub, got up real close to shore, while we we viewing the bears a male bear got close to the mother and cub, the cub ran way up a... More

We saw 5 black bears, and they are beautiful. The driver (whose name escapes me) was very friendly, and its a small operation so you'll always have him. Definitely bring a camera because you won't believe how close you'll get to the bears. Unless you're especially prone to seasickness, I wouldn't worry about it. Great memorable tour for all.

We went on the Bear watching trip in the morning. Mike was very helpful and informative. We had coffee on the boat, which was a nice surprise when the coffe shops in Tofino were closed. The boat was slower than the zodiacs, which was actually nice since we got more time on the water and view more wildlife! You can... More

We had a brilliant trip and stopped half a dozen times to see bears at different spots. We saw a mother and cub on one beach, a couple of older siblings on another beach, a larger male on another beach. It was magical watching the bears turning over the rocks to look for crabs or pulling down branches from the... More

We booked Mike White and his boat for some photo taking up in the Browning Pass and Freedom Channel. Boy of Boy did it sure not disappoint. We arrived on a dreary, foggy, rainy morning to be greeted very cheerfully by Mike. He was getting his trusty trawler ready and welcomed us quite heartily. The boat, albeit older, is beamy,... More

We were looked after so well on this trip - we boarded at the pier in Tofino and had a H&S briefing before we set off. Mike was very knowledgeable about the area and answered all our questions (total people on the boat were about 10 - forget now the exact amount!). We cruised out about an hour or so... More

This was a very enjoyable experience. The most important thing was Mike, who was very pleasant and kept the trip enjoyable and stress-free for everyone. The boat does have an enclosed area and he makes coffee and hot chocolate for the trip. We saw a number of bears and a bald eagle. He was very willing to stop for a... More

We stayed in Tofino, a peninsula in the Clayoquot Sound, an area renowned for passing whales and wildlife. There are so many options in Tofino, it was hard to settle on one, but we were recommended to Browning Pass Charters, owned and run by lifelong Tofino resident Mike White. Mike is incredibly experienced in tracking down the bears their habitats... More
