Mid April 2018, a morning with Mike from Browning Pass is not just about bear watching, it’s a whole immersion into Tofino’s wildlife, culture and history, passionately portrayed by Mike who has lived in Tofino all his life. It’s a relaxing boat trip in a...More

On a late season visit to Tofino we called in at the Storm Light store to enquire if Browning Pass we’re still doing trips. The friendly staff took a contact number, we hoped, then within an hour, Mike had called back; he could do a...More

12 people on a good sized boat and in Mike a skipper who really knows the area and habitat resulted in a great trip. The slower pace of this boat compared to a rib resulted in a comfortable journey, and lots of time to see...More

I did a lot of research when looking for a company to go bear and whale watching with. I especially wanted to go out on a boat, rather than a zodiac. The reviews here, along with email communication with Mike, led me to book Browning...More

These guys are the real thing. Theyhave years of experience and find the bears using patience and observation. They get up close whilst showing great respect to the bear allowing you an amazing close encounter. No thrashing it out on zodiacs, the boat is lovely...More

Lynne was friendly and informative on our trip. We got lovely views and even saw sea otters and a bear. Enjoyed the small boat (max 6 people) and timing as larger tours were largely on their way back.

When you get to Tofino, apart from surfing or hiking along the forest / beach, you quickly realise there are three main trips that are offered by several companies in town - whale watching, the hot springs, and looking for bears. We chose the bear-watching...More
