Imagine an airline where they call you to check-in. And no TSA hassles. This is a super-scenic trip in the classic de Havilland Beaver single engine float plane (all modernized instruments) right into downtown Vancouver's harbour. You'll see Salt Spring and Gabriola Islands, Point Grey and UBC, Stanley Park and Lions' Gate Bridge, landing right beside the cruise ships at... More

Great "young pilot" Very enjoyable flight, and the pilot showed his advanced skills with an absolute amazing landing! one of the best ways to see the beauty of the islands! the old work horse beaver (plane) was loud, so dont expect to have a detailed conversation with anyone you are with. but the views and being able to "tune people... Traveling from Vancouver BC to Salt Spring Island must be done with Salt Spring Air (float planes). i got to sit in the front seat and listen (via headphones) to all of the communication between the pilot and the air control. You can fly in/out of Vancouver city or Vancouver Airport (the latter is a few kilometers away from the... More

Used Salt Spring Air to fly to Salt Spring Island for a twenty-four hour stay on the island at Hastings House. The employees encountered were friendly, professional and informative. Amazing take off and landing on the water. Jaw dropping views of the city, outer islands and the constant activity in the water with the ships and boats. The planes appeared... More

I travel to Maple Bay for work quite often and enjoy flying Salt Spring Air not only because the schedule is very convenient but also because the service is great and the pilots very amiable. On this trip there was just the pilot & I. I sat upfront with him (which is something I enjoy) and we were chatting. I... More

My friends and I took a private tour today over Salt Spring Island. We all work in Tourism and wanted to gain more experience to bring to our jobs. St. Clair McColl took us up for a very informative, entertaining eye-opening view of our own island. An excellent experience all around.

If I could I would give Salt Spring Air 10 stars but TripAdvisor only allows up to 5. I am a seasoned traveler and have done air tours of other cities before, like a helicopter ride over New York City. But this air tour in Vancouver was the best my family & I ever had. Prior to arriving in Vancouver... More
