Although it’s improved recently, the lack of an underground experience is still a disappointment. The geology exhibit is good and it’s fun to pan for gold.

A fascinating look at the history of the gold mining boom town. Fun kids activities and community presentations. Be sure to explore the grounds to see buildings and mining equipment from the late 1800s.
