About
The SS Sicamous is the largest surviving paddle wheeler in Canada. It is open as a heritage site, museum and wedding venue. Launched in 1914, the ship provided a vital means of transport to remote communities on the shores of Okanagan Lake. The SS Sicamous is operated by the SS Sicamous Society: a non-profit organization that works to protect the marine heritage of the Okanagan.Funds from your admission go directly to the restoration of the SS Sicamous, and the other heritage ships in our care.

Great Condition
Oct. 2020
If you are in the neighbourhood, do make the effort for a visit. The ship is in good condition. It would be better if it were opened. Regardless, I really enjoyed seeing this ship up close and check out all its details. Great!
P.S. The SS Naramata Steam Tug Boat is right next to it.

Not open right now but still fun to look

Sadly not open due to Covid but my son was keen to see it and disappointed when it was closed.

He was lucky to meet Bud from the restoration society who gave him a history lesson and chatted all about what we could see from the exterior.

We look forward to coming back when it is once again open

Back in time

Nice way to spend an afternoon on the lake thinking back in time how the Sicamous use to transport cargo and people hundreds of years ago, and if you are thinking of getting married, what a beautiful ship to have it on, it has a working kitchen, and great scenery for pictures.

Very informative. You can just imagine floating along or dining in the paddlewheel’s diningroom. The rooms were so authentic and so realistic- boy people were short and small.

If you like history then this is for you. It is an amazing piece of long ago when this beautiful Old Gal traveled up and down Okanagan Lake. Beautiful inside and so interesting to step back in time.

Surprising and welcome presentation of Okanagan (read Penticton) history in a real steamboat. A great experience for young and old alike.

A great historical experience for the Okanagan Valley

The Sicamous is a beautifully restored stern wheeler that showed how folks traveled in the days before highways connected the towns of Pentiction, Kelowna, Vernon, etc. A worthy visit right on the beach in Penticton

Beautiful Restoration

If your in or travelling through Penticton, you should stop and have a look through this paddle wheeler. When looking out the windows you can imagine this ship travelling throughout the lake. A lot of history of the shipping on Lake Okanagan, there's displays of artifacts and descriptions of where it was used. Can almost feel the hustle and bustle of the passengers and crew, and of the noise of the steam engine.
