About
Founded in 1993, Poplar Grove Winery is one of the original five wineries on the Naramata Bench. Tony and Barb Holler purchased the winery in 2007 with the long-term vision and commitment to building one of the most respected wine growing estates in Canada. Their sons, Chris, Andrew, Matthew and Eric farm more than 140 acres of estate vineyards with care. Together, they share a commitment to express the incredible diversity of the Okanagan Valley. The Hollers are leading the journey to put Okanagan Valley wines on the map with an unwavering commitment to traditional farming and winemaking principles. Poplar Grove is widely recognized for crafting benchmark Pinot Gris and Cabernet Franc as well as multiple varietals and exceptional blends. Their flagship Okanagan blend of red Bordeaux varieties, The Legacy, first produced in 2003, is a wine that has the rare quality of being good at any age. The family philosophy: great wine brings us together.

My husband and I stopped to do a wine tasting at this vineyard, based on a recommendation from a friend. Not only were we not invited in with a sincere desire to try their wines, but I felt as though we were invading their space. There was very limited tasting, mostly reds, but asking to try something else was out of the question. At in the end we did purchase a bottle of their sister Rose (monster), based on a recommendation from someone else, but we left feeling like our visit wasn’t appreciated. I wouldn’t recommend this winery for a tasting. Perhaps if we had stopped for lunch and dropped a few hundred, we would have been treated better. I really don’t know. There are lots of other wineries which have good wine, so I would likely recommend you carry on if you would like a nice experience.

Went wine tasting here, the views were immaculate, wine was delicious and the restaurant had a very tasty and wonderful menu.

Hostess had a hard time looking up to acknowledge us for check us in and the lady doing the wine tasting, although engaging, couldn’t really tell us more about the wines outside of what was listed. Pretty quick tasting.

I couldn’t not leave a review after a great experience in the Poplar Grove tasting room this evening. I regret that I don’t remember the name of the gentleman who served me, but he was absolutely top talent. It should be expected that a bit of an overview of each of the tasting wines is given with each pour; but this young man’s knowledge of the wine-making process, of each vintage, of the grapes was impressive and he went above and beyond in answering all my questions and drawing from his expertise to offer even more detail.
I didn’t need to go anywhere else - this was a lovely experience and the excellence of your wines was only further highlighted by the wonderful service I received.
Thank you to this gentleman and to the whole Poplar Grove team!

Working in the wine world myself we very much enjoyed a trip to the Penticton / Naramata area and we visited several wineries. Poplar Grove was a very good experience, great wines. liked especially the crisp white varieties. Prices a little steep and restaurant staff could be a little more warm and welcoming, food & location was great though. We will be back

My wife and I went for a wine tasting and dinner at Poplar Grove Winery.
Our favorite wines were the CSM for my wife and the Syrah for me.
For dinner we started with the ahi tuna and avocado appetizer this dish was perfectly prepared and thrilled and prepared my taste buds for the main course.
For the main course we both had the slow baked Halibut with prawn pakora and a Vadouvan sauce. It was a marriage of tastes made in heaven, the prawns were lightly crusted and incredibly tender, now the Halibut was an amazing melt in your mouth gentle curry flavored masterpiece. We will definitely return in the not to distant future

Such amazing wine, food, and service. Our expectations were blown out of the water, this is a MUST stop if you are in the Penticton/Naramata area. We went to over ten different wineries in the area during our stay and Poplar Grove was one of our top favourites, so much so we came back for lunch. The service was topnotch and a special shout out to Shea who took such good care of us in the wine tasting room. Thank you, Poplar Grove!

We visited Poplar Grove twice while spending a weekend in Naramata. First, we reserved a wine tasting which was fantastic thanks in part to our great host Daniel who was very knowledgeable and friendly & and in part due to the lovely wines.
We came back in the evening for our Valentines dinner reservation & were blown away with the menu, the caliber of the food and fantastic service! We will return...the view, menu and Tanya our dinner host were all top-notch 💛

We were recommended this winery from friends who had visited the previous year. The wine was good, the view was breathtaking. The service could use an upgrade. The hostess didn’t acknowledge us when we were trying to check in for our reserved lunch. The tasting was alright, the lady mostly talked about her families hockey history.

Short-listed a few wineries & restaurants along Naramata Bench for hubby to choose & he chose this one based on the beautiful architectural design. Booked a table for lunch on the website & was offered a table by the window with breathtaking view. Our server was super-busy, but he made it up with extremely warm service & good recommendation on food. The house-made pasta he recommended was one of the best we’ve eaten. Slight criticism was the washroom could be cleaned more often, & no one was wearing masks any more.

Friendly service, casual environment. We shared the warm baguette, farm salad, Burrito, ahi and avocado and duck. We finished off with pot de creme. All items were very good tasting. Too bad the weather was not warm enough to be on their patio.
