An excellent park to visit.

We stop by quite often. Very interesting vegetation and a great place just to go for a walk. Open all year. Highly recommend.

Here's a pleasant place to visit, year round. After you've parked your car, you'll see the shallow lagoon on the left, and the ocean on the right. With the mountains of mainland British Columbia ahead of you as you walk along the little adjoining isthmus, you'll have some choices. There's a picnic area and a stretch of pebbly beach with... Another of Nanaimo's pleasant walks along the edge of the ocean, then over some rocks and around a rocky promontory.

This is one of my favorite places to go when I visit Nanaimo. It's a peaceful place to walk and feel the ocean. All different kinds of terrain.

This location is a beauty of a park located near homes on Hammond Bay. There are washrooms and feet cleaning facilities onsite. There is a gate as well. Many people come here for swimming, walking with groups and animals. This location has a nice stroll with seating, but if you wanted to get to the larger island you do have... More

This park is near Neck Point which is probably a more popular destination, but we preferred this park. It is nice and flat for walking. Open views over the water. Pets on their leashes are welcome. Some pathways may be under water during high tide. Just a wonderful place to spend a few hours on a nice day. Great for... More

So, I haven't seen anyone mention that you have to do a bit of rock-climbing to get to the trail. It isn't difficult but it's also not a flat trail, in fact there isn't a trail over the rock/hill/barrier. On the other hand it is gorgeous and there is a nice short beach walk if you don't want to get... More

This is a beautiful little bit of paradise nestled between Pipers Lagoon and the ocean. The walk around the outer edge of the rocky point does not take a lot of time, but it is not the place to rush. Parts of the trail are a bit tricky and should not be attempted by persons with mobility issues. A friend... More

This park offers an easy walk by the beach as well as a slightly more rugged path through a unique garry oak ecosystem.
