One of the oldest Estate Wineries in all of British Columbia, Blue Grouse is truly a magical place! Nestled on a 32arce piece of unspoiled Cowichan Valley countryside, this family owned winery and vineyard produces some of the most awarded wines on the entire island! From Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Ortega, Bacchus and the very rare Black Muscat, Blue Grouse produces new classic wines from old island vines.

Beautiful setting, excellent wines

A truly fantastic venue, we took a picnic lunch and dined with a spectacular view of the vines after tasting and purchasing a number of excellent wines.

I have been to Blue Grouse a few times and was blow away by their new tasting room (opened May 2015 ). Wine is good, staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Grounds are beautiful. Tasting room easily acomidates large groups. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy it outside with a bottle of estate wine.

We came at the end of a long wine tasting day. This was by far the most beautiful winery with its huge modern tasting room. I was expecting to taste some amazing wines but they were actually my least favorite of the day. I was also disappointed that 4 of the 6 we tasted were made from grapes sourced elsewhere.

I am from the San Francisco Bay Area and have a small home vineyard. We are also wine club members of many great local wineries and are what I consider to be wine educated. So believe me when I say, you will not be disappointed in the least in any area with a visit to Blue Grouse. The setting and... More

We went to the Blue Grouse Winery Oct 8th 2016 with a bunch of friends (4 couples in all) when they had their combined tasting and antiques/art/craft fair. Having bought some antique books, a vintage turkey platter and several other fun things, we were treated to a great tasting and four or five of the Blue Grouse wines. As expected,... More

We had the place to ourselves and we had cheese, crackers, wine tasting and more wine! The place would be amazing for small parties. We really had a wonderful time!

Yesterday I took my wife to the Blue Grouse winery. I had visited there myself last year and wanted to share it with her. The wines here are particularly good and the tasting area is really new and lovely. The owner, Paul Brunner, has done a great job of rehabbing this old vineyard estate. If you're very lucky, your wine... More

We visited Blue Grouse winery along with a number of others on the Island but had a very different experience at this one than the others. Unfortunately we left feeling very disappointed. Despite a being beautiful setting & dramatic building, the service was poor and as a result we do not recommend stopping. There are many others that offer a... More

We visited just on a whim. The wine was excellent and we are wine snobs! We bought several bottles to take back to wine country in Oregon. The wine dog Vinnie was sweet too.
