Took a tour offered by Husky Tours. Small group (13) and a good guide, Marina. Drove out to the park for about 1 1/2 hours drive. Several stops throughout the day with good commentary. The Interpretive Centre is definitely worth a stop. Lunch provided by the...More

On a Canada wide scale, this is probably one of the best provincial/territorial parks, but also one which is overlooked. We got to stay in the campground which was an amazing experience, as we were in a valley surrounded by mountains. The interpretive centre is...More

It is up the Dempster Hwy so one almost has to be going there to get there. The park is known as one of the better birding areas in the Yukon. The visitor center is very nice and it has two nature trails. We did...More

We detoured into Tombstone on our way from Dawson to Whitehorse. It was suggested as an idea of somewhere to go that neither of us had been to. It was about an hour once you got on the Dempster Highway to get to the Interpretive...More

Highlight of our visit was when a golden eagle flew by about 100 metres away. We stayed 2 nights in Tombstone Campground backed onto the North Klondike River - spring melt was in full spate and the ions were literally dancing around our campsite. Lots...More

Very accessible by passenger car from the Klondike Highway. The road beyond gets very wild and might not be suitable for everyone since it lacks services.

Neither words nor even photos are difficult to do justice to the Park's wild beauty on a sunny day!! I resorted to a coffee-table-sized book, "Along the Dempster", to capture the views in the Park, created only in 1999. The southern border is only about...More

We took an RV trailer there for 3 days. Incredible scenery. We arrived around 4 pm on a Friday and got the last available site. There is an overflow area where you can spend one night (no fire) before getting a site the next day....More

Pictures cannot do this place justice, nor can words, really. Stunning views, winding gravel highways, and nothing but the sound of the wind whistling through the spruce. Winter views are spectacular.

Most car rental places up there make you sign an agreement that you won't take the rental onto the Dempster highway because it's so hard on vehicles. If you're going to risk it, be sure you have a spare tire with you and... More

I have just been reading some of the recent reviews of Tombstone by people who visited in September and they had snow this year so you may want to contact the Territory Tourist inofrmation for their thoughts about when the... More
